Why isn't knowing how to drive a mandatory skill taught in high school as soon as someone turns 16? Why, as a society, do we find it acceptable that adults should be allowed to function in the world without being able to take responsibility for their own transportation? Keeping retarded people from driving isn't an excuse because literal brain dead retards drive every day. Also, UK and eurofaggots in your little make believe, driving hostile countries need not bother responding.

Maybe in the past, but if you haven't been paying attention. The retarded assholes who run the world have decided that driving will be restricted in the near future. So they actively want to encourage people to not learn to drive. "Isn't it amazing these new apartment buildings only have one car spot for every 5 shit boxes."

More importantly, why aren't many other basic life skills taught in school? "Here's a bunch of education to help you succeed as an adult. No we will not tell you how to actually get a job or do it."

East coasters would get very upset at having to sit on the freeway all day instead of dealing with swamp ass in fetid subway stations everyone pretends to enjoy using.

Doesnt matter what you do unless you live in a literal grid-locked hellhole public transportation will always take 2-3x as long as driving

And yeah you have to put up with the quality of public transport facilities and the people who ride them

Well, think about it this way. Every retard on the road can't drive for shit. So the question should be asked to drivers.

There's too many cars on the road as is. We should have better public transport. There's crazy drivers everywhere. And a lot of car jackings in my area. Screw that. As an elective I think driving might be good. But it could be a disaster as well. All it takes is one accident and the school is gonna be in hot water. I don't think school districts would touch it with a ten foot pole.

I take public transportation or walk and I function just fine. If a perfectly healthy adult cannot walk at least five miles there's something wrong with them. My family walked all kinds of places because we couldn't always afford to take the bus plus buy food. So I grew up used to lugging heavy groceries for miles. I'd like to see a seasoned car ass do that. I'd like to see them run past eight lanes of traffic before the light changes while carrying half their weight in groceries because the bus is coming now.

I beg for puzzle pieces.

School was never about skills or teaching.
It's specifically meant to get mothers into the workforce and away from their kids, while preparing those kids to do menial busywork for 8 hours a day 5 days a week.

That's driver's ed ma'am, it is an elective in school.

They've got those cars where there's a brake pedal on the passenger side so that if you really mess up the instructor can slam on the brakes, and at least in some states if you take it you can get your driver's license early.

Bro walkable cities lmao
A car gives you near absolute freedom of mobility. When you use public transport you are reliant on the government to provide a service. The reason why they push walkable cities so hard is because they want you dependent on the government for everything. These people are fucking evil and always present their agenda in some sugarcoated bullshit like "saving the environment", safety, and "convenience".
