The furtherance of the globalist agenda has kicked into overdrive since around 2008, made possible by countless factors including the declining personal pride and overall intelligence of the average first-world citizen, dilution and disruption of efficient and stable communities, the state of advanced technology, and an extremely large amount of current world leaders who are either themselves some form of globalist or have been paid/lobbied/forced to further their agenda, which includes the eventual installment of one-world totalitarian government and the elimination of things like the middle class, free market capitalism, individual rights and freedoms, privacy, etc.
It may never get quite as bad as you are imagining in your head, but the wealthy sociopaths who currently influence the world sure as hell want to see if they can get close.
Humanity is ultimately doomed only because we are at an extremely tragic place intellect-wise: not quite an animal, but also not quite at the levels of sentience that it would require to have a logical, highly efficient species. Human intelligence is in this really awkward gray area where we are capable of so many different acts of profound brilliance, engineering, imagination, kindness, beauty...yet we are too stupid as a collective race to intuitively master any of our remaining animal instincts like fear and anger, or eliminate the curse of ego that comes with a conscious self.
