Why the fuck does YouTube have to buffer when I seek backwards 10 seconds?

I've never, ever had trouble with one.
I haven't had trouble with them either, because I don't use them.

Even way back in the early days of adblock extensions, I didn't use them, because why should I? Back then, on Windows, I would get a list of known ad-hosting domains and put them in my hosts file, routing all of them to locahost, and run an extremely small program called Homer which would serve a spaceball to any request from localhost. It worked really well.

But I do constantly see posts on the Internet about how adblock extension X isn't working and how to fix? Especially with regards to YouTube ads.
I don't even notice UBO it works so well 99.9999% of the time. It litwrally takes like 2 minutes to install from the Chrome or Firefox extension store. And aren't you on Linux? Viruses aren't even that big a deal since they need sudo access for them to run systemwide.
Youtube's been doing some fuckery to get around adblockers. Try refreshing the sources list in the extension options. What browser are you using btw?
YouTube Premium works 100% of the time at blocking ads on YouTube. You can pay for it, or you can fuck around with adblock extensions. The choice of what you use is entirely yours, but you don't get to choose for other people.
I just use qBittorrent for nearly everything I want and go to 1337 or the Pirate Bay or Nyaa for anything I am torrenting. Torrenting is really fucking easy and you can easily scan your installed files for viruses or malware if you are that paranoid about them.

It's not 2007 anymore. Viruses are hard to get unless you actively allow them onto your system and not don't block the ads that tend to carry them. That unironically is one of the few upsides of the centralization of the Internet.
You're well and truly a moron if you use The Pirate Bay for anything in 2024.

I give up ya'll, can't fix stupid. :story:
I hope you find the $10,000 an hour tech support tranny of your dreams @Gargamel and you both live happily ever after in the anime poster paid service padded cell of your dreams.
If you'd read the OP you'd know and understand that the problem has nothing to do with YouTube Premium, and also has nothing to do with adblock extensions. It's not my fault you're too much of a niggerfaggot to actually read the OP.

The only reason I mentioned YouTube Premium is so you niggers wouldn't try blaming the problem on adblock extensions, which is actually a pretty reasonable assumtion to make given the cat-and-mouse game beteeen the adblock extension developers and YouTube.

You should consider that not everybody is going to agree with you or your nigger friends, and that people with money can choose to spend it however they see fit. Especially Jews.

Are you a Jew?

the last 10 seconds watching it.
I'm on gigabit internet, with a fast computer, and still Youtube is slow. Many the big sites are like that. Javascript bloat maybe? If it weren't for high sustained download speeds (no symmetry for me) I'd say that gigabit internet is not currently worth it.

Imagine paying for youtube premium. :story:
Imagine watching dozens of adverts not paying for YouTube Premium...
$15 a month though. I'll go as high as $2. I block the ads anyway, and if I can't, I don't partake.

I'm surprised you use YouTube premium on a Linux set up and can't figure this out. What an oxymoron. Maybe you need Apple devices instead to fix this, they're also expensive and "just work".

@Gargamel is the perfect argument for why Linux is suitable for the average computer user. Look how this retard is able to use linux apparently just fine despite being unable to figure out simple web browser tasks and having the understanding of a retarded boomer about the internet. Linux really is so easy any retard can use it.

The jealousy of the Jew in this thread is absolutely appaling.

This is the most likely explanation. It is in fact not actually buffering, but rather the video player JS is just that fucking slow to respond to a left arrow seek. Maybe perhaps due to all of the anti-adblock measures, or maybe because YouTube is a bloated piece of shit in general.

If you use a VPN with an Indain endpoint to subscribe, it'll bill you the Indian price which is about 100 rupees a month, or $1.20. Your Jew tip of the day.
It's probably changing resolutions for some reason or it's an issue with your app or device.
Doubtful. I think YouTube is simply a piece of shit site.

You install an adblocker, takes less than a minute, and then it works.
That's the experience of an adblocker.

Claiming it's somehow difficult is horridly bad cope.

Spent less time on that than it'd take to actually give yt money.

Oh and then it works for every site to.
More "I'm smarter than you because I spend repeated time and effort instead of money" cope I see.

Also, why doesn't it work for these fucktards?
I have both of those but they don't remove the ads at the beginning of videos and they also don't block the ads during livestreams :\

Don't need extensions clogging up my browser. Don't need to wonder why the fuck my browser is crashing all the time and which extension is causing the problem. Don't need to update said extensions to keep it working. Don't need to be peer pressured by niggers into installing shit on my computer that I don't want and don't need. Don't need to keep looking for solutions when things inevitably break, nor do I need to use websites other than http://youtube.com to view YouTube videos.

YouTube Premium "just works" on my computer, my phone, and in a pinch, any available smart TV or modern game console.
Are you browsing on a 2005 windows XP laptop or something? These days, the vast majority of extensions "just work" and even your cellphone likely has enough RAM to handle a tiny extension or two running. You go on to imply KF users are young later, but it sounds to me like you haven't left your bubble in a decade.

Enjoy paying a premium for the bare minimum your whole life. Nobody is going to peer pressure you into not being a retard. Its just a shame to witness.

OP is a braindead nigger, you pay money to a service that you admit hates you. even foregoing the fact that you don't HAVE To do that, and can get all functionality for free, you are literally paying them to keep fucking with you (and others) and you dare complain about their service quality. Literal paypig, enjoy getting findomed by Alphabet, nigger.

More "I'm smarter than you because I spend repeated time and effort instead of money" cope I see.
I don't understand where this time and effort bullshit comes from. It takes pretty much the same amount of time to bust out my bank card and enter in payment details as it does to just click a link and press install. I'm sorry you're retarded and think basic computer tasks are some kind of monumental effort and challenge.

I'd like to believe that @Gargamel made a bait thread and he's not legitimately retarded but if you are serious then... Sorry nigga but you are legimately retarded :optimistic:
Or you know, I now have a pretty long list of tranny users who get butthurt about the thought of people with actual money spending said money on things.

This is likely. I'm constantly pushing the limits of my laptop with 16GB of memory.
This shouldn't matter since Youtube uses MSE and controls its own buffering behavior.

You can try setting media.mediasource.enabled to false in about:config to let Firefox control the buffering and see if that fixes it. I can't reproduce this issue on my desktop regardless though.
