Many of the other groups were often exposed to hardship that personally troubled things that they had worked hard for, such as their livelihood or their family, or the people living in the same community. Therefore, not only did they know how to work hard for something that they believed to be noble, but they had the passion to work out of love of their family and for their people and way of life, meaning that they were willing to give a lot more of their strength, emotion, and willpower to such a cause, even if it spelt death.

Many of the university communists experienced none of this. Their parents, through their own success, gave their children ample opportunity to learn and work for things the easy way. Rather than seeing communism as an opportunity to save the glory of their country or to bring security to their progeny, they think of communism in the utopian vibe that takes their own cushiness and pushes it as the central ideal. This is why they take to social media and to the streets in vapid protests, and also why they directly resist the notion of self-improvement, leaving them open as lolcows. They boiled down the brew of hardship they the ideology of communism came from, leaving only the ideas themselves as dregs in the bottom of the pot. They shifted from the notion of labor to the notion of equality.

Their idea of communism is the antithesis of hard work, self improvement, and noble sacrifice.

I think it's more than just falling asleep in class. At least here in the US, it's the continuing decline of our education system at every level. I can't speak for all schools, but it seems to me that the majority of public schools and universities care more about getting as many people, even the dumb ones, through their programs and curriculum as quickly as possible without focusing on the quality of what they're teaching. I can't completely blame some of these schools though because their funding is so terrible they can't afford better teachers and other amenities to aid with education.

Combine poor education with some bad parenting that practiced the worst parts of both the self-esteem and PC movements, and you have a group of really dumb young people with narcissistic tendencies that believe everything should be handed to them i.e. western communists.

What happened? The comforts a life in the 1st world provides, and the modern society's obsession with individualism and the cult of the self.

Stalinist peasants lived a harsh life. Korean peasants lived a harsh life. Etc.

People who already live with the fear of death in their daily lives, people who are no strangers to suffering and blood and violence, people who have not been told since birth that they are SPESHUL and UNIQUE and should follow their HOPES and DREAMS, but instead have been helping their family unit to plow fields, slaughter pigs and milk cows because if they don't, they'll all fucking starve to death - those people are fairly easy to turn into soldiers. They're already selfless, disciplined, and have no qualms about killing to defend their own. The "family" in this case just becomes a larger group - the people they are ideologically bound to, vs blood ties or something else.

Nobody these days is ready to die for a cause because they all think their lives are so tremendously important. And nobody is ready to endure real actual suffering because for many people in the first world, the power going out and their phone dying is already suffering. Not having fast enough internet to torrent Game of Thrones AND watch something off Netflix IN HD is suffering. The pizza guy arriving 30 minutes late and their pizza being a little cold is suffering.

I don't think it's the absence of corporal punishment like @CWCissey (jokingly) suggested. I think Western communists being the way they are today can be due to the "special snowflake" mentality kids have been coddled with -- that overemphasis on individuality @Varg Did Nothing Wrong mentioned. Also kids today are treated like kids much longer than in the past. Like having "safe spaces" at universities where it's already bad to pick on "marginalized groups."

And of course there's the atrocious state of education in the West (or at least in America), where things like Mao killing millions may be glossed over or even omitted.

Combine all that with the naive belief that "communism = everything is free" (like welfare) and it's easy to see why Western communists can be lolcows like a certain "LatinX" spudkin.

I don't think of Latin America as being part of the West. To me, the West is the USA and Canada, Western Europe and Scandinavia, Australia and New Zealand, and maybe South Africa.

The obvious answer is women. The moment we allowed women to vote in the United States is the moment that we dismantled marriage as instituted by God. Ephesians 5:22-24 "Let women be subject to their husbands, as to the Lord: Because the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ is the head of the church. He is the saviour of his body. Therefore as the church is subject to Christ, so also let the wives be to their husbands in all things."

We look at things in the world today like the economic progress that stemmed from women's suffrage, and fools believe that giving women the right to individually vote was a step in the correct direction from that corollary. Married men and women formed a unique voting unit that cannot be replicated by men alone or women alone. With the dynamic that we have had since the introduction of the Nineteenth Amendment, we have pitted men and women against each other in their voting patterns.

Why is anyone surprised that we have men attempting to become women through self-mutilation? Men are no longer the head of anything in the West, and they want power. The dynamic of power has been shifted towards women, and so now our culture reflects that. Most women today are perverted whores, and it is because men cannot control them. But I also wouldn't hesitate to say that men no longer want to control women. Because of the dismantlement of marriage, there is very little reason for men to care about women anymore.

The desire of communism among the unintelligent is a misguided beg for equality. The men of those groups also tend to not want the responsibility that comes with marriage. Thus, the members of those groups tend to look stupid because the base premise lies on the reintroduction of marriage. Also, when I speak about marriage, I do not mean marriage as by how misguided Westerners see it. There is no divorce in marriage. I believe the phrase, "Til death do us part," succinctly sums up how God sees marriage.

Unless and until the institution of marriage is repaired in our culture, I believe it is right and just to blame women for allowing our society to collapse at hellish speeds. Communism cannot save it, and especially not when the majority of communists are just effeminate faggot manchildren that refuse all forms of responsibility.

It's because the socialist states which arose in the twentieth century were brutal dictatorships which denied their people the most basic of freedoms and did not deliver on the promise of uplifting the worker. They put the party over the people. Lolcows are attracted to it because it's seen as edgy and gives them a sense of belonging. Western communists have never been purged for ideological purity and devotion to the revolution. Any bourgeois, intelligentsia lolcows who existed in the historical communist states were purged during the consolidation of those regimes.

I can't believe I'm falling for this honey pot, but I'll give my opinion. Western communists are lolcows because they were never really communists (or even leftwing economically) to begin with. Most of these guys are talentless, intellectually bankrupt, SJWs that have no vision of the future beyond a comfortable life screaming about microaggressions. Many of them have gone as far as to read socialist literature, yet seem to miss what is necessary for socialist/communist systems to function properly (hint, it isn't more gender politics).

They've turned to communist/whatever else they call it in their attempt to legitimize their insane social goals. They know that they can't try to sneak into even the democratic party because even they wouldn't stand for the SJWs' inability to stomach the words "insane" or "stupid." So they turned to a political counterculture that had already been mostly destroyed by the US government and plutocrats all too recently. This meant that there was no one in that branch of politics that could reject them and tell them to gtfo and go back to grade school. From there, the faux commies went to work establishing themselves as the new left within the U.S., and related nations, and tapped into the existing stigma against left wing political parties created during the cold war to increase their victim score.

The old communists/socialists/unions within the United States managed to achieve quite a bit in their efforts to obtain better worker rights and support the New Deal. They practiced what they preached and, even in the 1960s, you could still see the Black Panthers allying with the poor whites of Chicago to work toward their goals. You can tell that these SJWs aren't part of the economic left because despite having the political clout to achieve something, perhaps of small import, they choose to instead whine and bitch on the internet about their 15 mental illnesses. It has nothing to do with how easy their lives have been; rather, it has everything to deal with who they view as the real enemy in society that must be opposed. They don't rally against wall street and form human chains around the elite universities, blocking the rich students from going to class. No, they fight against the common man. They're obsessed with a mythical gender wage gap and countless ways in which white women are oppressed. Their greatest accomplishment so far has been to tear down civil war statues that didn't meaningfully affect a single person's life in the slightest. Have you gone to the DSA's website lately? They have a freaking Queer Socialists Working Group. That should say everything about these western communists. They never were and never will be truly part of the left, and currently all they do is bring immense shame to the few socialists that aren't acting like utter morons.

I think it boils down to the fact that communism, at least the Marxist kind that arguably saw a little success in the US, saw most of it's better parts like labor reform absorbed by various political movements.

Whether that was progress or satiation of the sheep is another debate, but the end result was, communism as a movement fell out of favor with the common person, leaving behind only the dregs: starry-eyed academics and dumb, angry malcontents who are looking for a mob to join, independent of politics, because they like the window smashing.
