We saw man in simple t-shirts in Korea in temperatures that you would only usually find in the Arctic making a human wall against the progress of capitalism.

Because of the kind of ideology Communism is, it's the ideology of Crabs in a bucket. None of these Communists have ever succeeded in life and probably never will so they just think “Well if i'm going to fail no one else should succeed."

You're right, though let me elaborate on that--they don't simply think no one else should succeed, it's that they think they didn't succeed because of "the man, the system, capitalism." Similar to how the flip side of the coin, the alt right, blames the jews for everything wrong with them. Hell, they think success itself is predatory and those who succeeded, oppress others on virtue of having succeeded and puttiing them in a spot higher up on some hierarchy that now nobody else will be able to occupy. It's why communism is the ultimate ideology of equality, because to be anything other than on the same level as everyone else IS oppression. It's why academics are so insanely focused on privilege and why the progressive stack exists.

Modern day "communists" are, at least in Europe, direct result of earlier communist youth movements, IMHO. Back in the sixties and seventies it was all the rage in European universities to be communist; back then this was partially because people didn't have that many options from which to choose when picking up their worldviews, and at least communists were against christian values and conservatism. Even the earlier generations of Europeans were quite tired of the earlier mainstream culture that was dominated by the christian morals, and it was just a matter of time when the more emotionally driven portion of their descendants would revolt identity-wise. Now, this wave of western communism lost appeal and thunder as the oppressive and corrupt nature of Soviet Union became more apparent to the public at large, throwing the western communist parties in to bad light. At best, they were buffoons and at worst, murderous extremists, in the eyes of their intended target audience. As their sex appeal waned, the old communists turned their coats, adopted more "acceptable" causes like the green movement, animal rights and social democracy and effectively rehabilitated themselves to their respective societies.

However, ideologies sit deep in human psyche, and as this generation of once-revolutionaries raised the children of their own, these kids would grow up listening to tales of how cool it was to "fight against imperialism" and "save the world from capitalist oppression" while partying with hot chicks/guys and drinking red wine all night long. The earlier generation of communists had at least somewhat proletarian or agrarian backgrounds; their own success in academic, cultural and bureucratic worlds ensured that their children were raised in inherently better and more privileged positions, essentially knowing nothing of the hardships or realities facing the "common man".

Now, add to this kind of background our modern atmosphere of gender-fluidity, feminism and all the other garbage these maggots inhale like glue. It's really a wonder that they aren't even more of a joke they already are.

Communism in the West has been "watered down" or "bastardized", whatever term you prefer, by the pervasive language of therapeutic self-help prescriptions.

Various causes include the Frankfurt School (not the original, hardcore Leninist-Marxist forebears like Adorno but popular press utopianists like Herbert Marcuse), the 1960s-era Students for a Democratic Society student protest movements, and the popularity of Marxist themes in 1970s counter-cultural music (Gang of Four, Mekons, et al.).

These cultural sources blended the critiques of Marx, Engels, and Lukacs with the prevailing sexual and societal liberation themes of the self-help movements. Marcuse was particularly influential in this regard, though no one reads him now. Students in the 60s and 70s read him voraciously and reached the conclusion that smashing the capitalist state was the only means to be free, live a genuine life, and most importantly, get laid as much as they wanted.

Ironically, now these counter-cultural themes are woven deeply into consumerist frameworks, so corporations push products that are cloaked in thematics like authenticity, freedom from social control, open expression of sexuality, etc. None of this self-help ideology was part of early Communism, but the West has a way of taking everything it touches and converting it to the individual problematic: "Will this (save me from sin) (show I am more worthy of salvation than my neighbors) (make me freer to do what I want)" etc.

"To each according to his own ability, to each according to his need." They think that as they have no ability, they will still live well in their Bolshevik utopia. Funny how that never seems to work out. It appeals to the loser, because it raises the bar on what it means to be a loser, just enough for it to be acceptable for them to be content, as a loser.

Think about that, they would literally rather put forth the effort to turn society on its head than fix themselves and become something with even the tiniest modicum of merit.

That, in some cosmic sense, is sort of why we are all here. Subconsciously, I imagine we see a little bit of that cancerous sentiment in every lolcow.

No, they want other people to do that for them, too. Real Marxists would call these useless fuckers lumpenproletariat, those of the proletariat too stupid ever to become class conscious. If they go for the outright tankie interpretations, they are morons by definition. Maybe they have the intelligence to come up with convoluted justifications for what they believe, but it's apparently a useless sort of intelligence that doesn't prevent them from seizing on nonsense in the first place.

There are still academic Marxists out there in their seventies who are quite well educated and intelligent, but the ones you'd actually want to spend time around don't deny the undeniable facts of Stalinism and Maoism. The ones who seized on Venezuela as finally being the actual success they had wanted (hi Bernie) are aware they have egg on their face now.

It's one thing to have general opinions, but at the point you're denying reality, claiming the Earth is flat, Obama was born in Kenya, George W. Bush personally plotted 9/11 despite at the same time being the biggest moron alive, etc., whatever intelligence you may have is a self-devouring monster. I can't think of many people who go that far into the rabbit hole who aren't globally incompetent at life and its tasks. I.e., morons.

We have 100 years of history that shows us when communism is put into practice it only makes people "equal" in terms of dragging everyone down into the muck and always comes as a package deal with a corrupt police state.

The only people who still support it are either:

A) Too stupid or delusional to acknowledge history.
B) The type of person who wants to spread misery.
C) Aspiring to be a petty tyrant.
D) All of the above.

The idea of Communism intrinsically feeds into human nature, particularly that of a value based system in which all are cared for financially, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. The process in which it is enacted however is through brute force.

Those that romanticized Communism in 1900's became revolutionaries.
Those that became revolutionaries became cynics in the 50's through the 90's.
And finally those that became cynics become romantics from the 90's to now.

It's a hilariously retarded cycle in which nothing ever gets done and everyone is worse off than before.
