Why would God create a world that is not perfect?

To let us experience everything. Joy means nothing without sorrow; achievement nothing without failure. Life is meant to be lived.

It is perfect though. Perfectly balanced. Everything is beholden to consequence and material limitations create a constant pull between invention and limitation. Suffering is unpleasant to experience because it is a necessary aspect of it being undesirable by design. The only reason suffering is bad is because you are subject to it by consequence of existing. In truth, suffering (or happiness, or any other state of being or emotion) only applies within the context of the rest of the world it takes place in. It is a result of the underlying mechanics that govern reality to begin with. Struggle is inherently satisfying in ways you don't realize. Your brain becomes numb to repetition, without suffering happiness would become mundane and unremarkable.

Additional edit: Basically: Your prosperity wouldn't be of any concern to the creator because it is itself a product of the reality created to begin with. It serves a purpose. Emotions are a result of your brain. An author (especially an emotionless one) would have no reason to prioritize the well being of the characters of their creation, residing in the world of their creation, over the fidelity of the entire story. Not to imply fatalism, actually it'd be more accurate to call life a game under this understanding.

It's kind of the point. Our universe in my opinion is hell and the objective is to understand or escape it. Hell in my opinion isn't a place where nothing good happens. Hell in my opinion is a place where the worse possible outcome could happen and there is no limit to how bad that outcome could be. I'm convinced that the devil or some evil force has reign in our universe with it's attempts to create schisms whether it be organized religion, political opinions, confusion, language barriers, mental disorders or whatever. I am also convinced there is some sort of way to escape this nightmare and most people want to escape it with the least amount of suffering possible. I often read space books and they mention the universe is a dangerous place where even natural objects regardless if it's on earth or things like stars, asteroids, black holes, etc. Can disrupt civilization on earth. Examples being The Permian Mass Extinction, The Carrington Event, Huronian Glaciations, etc. I also theorize that reincarnation exists so something like Suicide would be considered a selfish act where the punishment is being put back in this hellish realm. I may be wrong about all of this especially when history looks so bleak in the grand scale, but I am still really looking forward to achieving sanctuary or some realm better than this whether it be Heaven, Valhalla or whatever. Most people agree that death is what you want it to be. I view death as the unknown by possible the chapter to another portion on whatever we didn't discover.

But I would love to go to Valhalla.

I think the reason why impurity exists is so that disparity can exist: love and hate, suffering and joy, freedom and servitude, life and death. When you have impurities, it provides a means to flourish, since mankind cannot grow and develop if everything is already perfect. I also believe that the story Adam & Eve is perfect, since it proves that even if the world was perfect, we are still subject to impurities ourselves (designed in the "image" of God, therefore a subset) and would inevitably corrupt The Garden, so we are destined to live in an impure world.

With impurity and chaos, it allows mankind to exploit his reality, develop new things and prove that we can be masters of our own realm, just like God is master of his. We live in a world of pain, torment and suffering, but also of great innovation, research and engineering. We can exploit the fundamental limits of our reality to make machinery that can think on our behalf, produce and manufacture goods 24/7 with no tiring and complaints. We have developed medical technologies that allow for what used to be a mortal wound 200 years ago (breaking an arm or a leg) to be almost something that everyone goes through as a child nowadays. The lifestyle of an average person in a 1st world nation is an order of magnitude greater than what kings and emperors could have dreamed of. You can get in your car and drive 100km/h (65mph) to another city in a matter of hours, food delivered to your door, communications with relatives and friends instantly, irrespective of the distance between. It's absolutely amazing what world we've crafted for ourselves, considering that just 5,000 years ago we were living in small communities with only verbal language, fighting off predators and losing a great deal of children and livestock every winter (Homo Sapiens have been around for nearly 300,000 years).

We were given an impure sandbox to be tested at what our limits really are. Each step in our evolution poses an exponentially greater challenge than the one prior and one that mankind was never physically capable of. We cannot swim or fly and must be constantly breathing our atmosphere to survive. Yet we built massive cruise ships for our own pleasure, amazing aircraft that far surpasses what nature is capable of and have a permanent presence off our planet.

It might sound a little bloom-ery or even naïve, but I think you should have a second thought about the universe we live in. We are our choices after all. We are destined to conquer the stars and will become masters of our universe in time. We will be looked back in 5,000 years as primitive and possibly barbaric, so as I said earlier, it's all about perspectives.

The answer is obvious: He didn't create it because he doesn't exist. There is comfort in that, too.

It's perfectly molded in a way to let you go one of many paths. Suffering builds character; challenges build fortitude. The reason we feel our adult years go by fast is cause we stop challenging ourselves. We can do everything and do none of it. Of all choices in life I regret, I'd only realistically change not getting a job as a teen. It would've matured me and given me understanding of life, and thus probably choose a better career path. I choose pain.

Spent so long asking the same question and going through debates I'll give everyone the summary, and they should make sure to respond with "Retard!" right after reading it.

You'll ask something like why did God create this world, what's the point, similar to the idea of why does God allow evil to exist?

Simple point that is often made is this is free will. The counter point is often that why pray then, if all is decided? Why pray not to be sick, gay, or whatever.. as these ideas contradict the nature of free will because if God intervenes then it's not free will. But that one tends to hurt religious brains.

The next point some will answer with, is that prayer is kind of recognition to God that you love him or something. I personally think this is kind of a cope, but not in a bad way. It must feel nice to pray to some God who you believe will fix your fucked up life, and when maybe per chance or actual effort your life improves, you should thank god. I think unfortunately that a being as powerful as "God" who has seen how many millions if not billions live and die, why they would make a special little break for you makes no sense.

We can also explore all the other billions of ideas about chaos and order theory that are often attributed to religion, but the simple fact is that we are attributing human mindset to spiritual mindset. Why would a God do such things? They are a God and we little ant brains wouldn't be able to understand most likely. As much as the cum sock you left alone for a few weeks under your bed sprouted a colony of life all its own, did you really take time to give a fuck about it or did you throw it away and hope to forget about it as soon as possible?
