Wikia / FANDOM - The ugly result of giving aspies control of their own wiki websites

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
An bit of an wall of text, with this one. So, as long we all know, the "official" Star Wars wiki is trying to outdo the franchise when it comes to "embracing" PC culture and they've recently banned an admin over some Discord drama and for mismanaging their social media account. And yes, they're still aping Wikipedia in terms of how they handle shit, so it's going to be an autistic mess.

But the tl;dr is that it was just the guy lying to the rest of the staff an handful of times and spreading some mild drama.

Just saying star wars and wikia in the same sentence is already too much of a sperg overload, adding manufactured discord drama on top of that is just obscene. Are they still arguing about misgendering the big fat slug species? I remember catching a glimpse of that argument ages ago.

You forgot to include Twitter into that mix, pal.

I think that such debates are short-lived, nowadays. Any form of dissent quickly gets thrown under the bus

Moralfag talks about some of the shadier shit that's on there.

For the most part, it's just kids being kids. Some of which are potentially too young to be on there. There was the usual content of porn-adjacent shit. But what's kind of new is that there's allegedly an few wikis dedicated to indirectly doxxing people and giving out some sketchy medical advice.

In the comments, a lot of users are seething that he indirectly shut down Sexypedia, a wiki for characters who the "Tumblr sexyman" trope applies to. While he incorrectly thought it was a pornographic wiki (it wasn't), he still potentially pwned a bunch of shippers (although it's also possible the wiki was shut down for reasons unrelated to his video, it would be lulzy if someone accidentally nuked a Tumblr wiki this way).

I will give Sexypedia credit for being semi tounge in cheek

You know Wikia has gone insane when they thrown out an old admin from the beginning just because he was baited into drama and didn't fit 100% to their new culture.

So, I was scrolling through the Plants vs. Zombies Wiki discussions and I found this piece of autism.
1732150729715.png
A tier list about plant genders, that includes "non-binary", "transgender", and my favorite "and should it have a gender"

Comments are as autistic as you could expect

We have a bunch of tranny-supproting retards and a "demiboy" (not sure what is this supposed to mean, and I don't care either) discussing about "gender identities" and why agender and non-binary are not the same autistic bullshit.

The PvZ Wiki is still filled with autism, for nobody's surprise.

But what caught my attention was a post from an aspie who was promoting his fanon wiki, named "Plants vs. Zombies Character Creator Wiki (often abreviated as PvZCC)

At first I didn't give it much importance, but they I decided to enter if I can find material for the farms. And not going to lie, this thing is a gold mine of autism.
To give you a preview of how autistic can we get, those are two of the mods:
1733197399643.png1733197423869.png
The first thing you may have noticed about those two, is that their profile pages are filled with weird decorations, this is because PvZCC haves a kind of cosmetic system using Fandom's templates (take banners as an example), they also tried to implement some kind of economy related with those cosmetics. But due to Fandom's limitations there is nothing that blocks users of adding certain elements to their profile (other than jannies blocking you of course).
Something that I can say is that PvZCC haves more quality controls compared to your average fanon wiki, as low-quality pages are often removed.
Some examples of featured pages, if you think that they're good or just more autisit bullshit, that depends of you.
But of course, this thing is also filled with autism, as many fanon wikis.
As I explained before (check the "Tranny mods" spoiler), the wiki has a kind of "economy system", and to keep the economy alive they often do events when there is an importnat season (examples: Christmas, Halloween, Plants vs. Zombies' aniversary, etc.), the thing is simple, there is a main post, you comment and you get a point, getting certain ammount of points will give you something unique, like the rights to use certain cosmetic or some kind of seasonal coin, not sure about that. Some recurrent types of events include story events and ringing/flipping something. Let one of the admins explain it for you.

Let's check one of them, I hope it's not fueled with autism

(from Cookie Chronicles)
Looking for more events like those, I have found that the last one had a Shrek thematic (don't ask why)

(do I really need to explain what's going to happen here?
1733199533948.png1733199574745.png1733199597073.png
(I think Tiki Tales is how they call events that are like Cookie Chronicles)

and my favorite one:

The admins are also autistic, first we have Wildcard2048 (often called Sani) who is the "main admin" at this moment, who is someone with a "paricular" sense of humor:1733200014547.png
And we have DMdarkmatter (appeared on the "Tranny mods" spoiler, who is not only a tranny but also a janny, just look at this
1733200140565.png
(Archive)
so short story: someone posted an art about transgender Crazy Dave that it found online, and people were disgusted at it on PvZ Wiki, however DMdarkmatter was offended by this and made this essay about why everyone who doesn't accept LGBT is bad and whatever. And then, there is this comment:
1733200259100.png
I don't know what to say

Other autisitc people that we could analyze could be AmericanEditor350, I am a dumb dumb, Creepes, FlamingChandelure and TOMO Official. But I will leave it here at this point.

So, what happens when someone figures out how to bypass this shit?
The admins (principally Wildcard) are the ones who manually write the list of cosmetics that an user can add to their profiles, there is nothing that prevents people from adding the templates to their profiles whil editing. However, the admins will revert any edit using unauthorized cosmetics

This has got to be the most retarded exchange that I've seen on there. And the autist who ran that trick got an slap on the wrist.

Might be an TOS violation. If not for the obvious amounts of spam, then this might be an close second.
