In its prime, ROBLOXiwood was two things. First, it was a tightly-knit community of outcasts, bound by their love for creation and their often rocky pasts. Second, a crockpot of drama, always cooking shit up. Consequently, ROBLOXiwood would be seen as an "outlet" for the real-life woes of users. Thus, ROBLOXiwood also seemed to attract certain groups of people who suffer from anxiety or depression. The community would normally open up about their problems in real life and make movies to help distract them from the pains of their real life.
The chats were often places of support and comfort for those involved. Many would come to the chat, open up, and subsequently be comforted by everyone in it. The chats often had a familial vibe; no matter what happened, everyone went through it together. This was also true in the case of TinyChat; the main members of the chat, including
AntiochusXII,
Endpoint,
AlmightyNoob, Olliekins, BenIsLegit, DonValuta, and occasionally Zilex100, would go into a chatroom and talk for hours on end. They'd turn on their webcams and watch their movies together.
They'd also hold makeshift premieres—theaters, often hastily thrown together, were prepped for a major release and many would show. Then, the director would reveal a link for everyone to watch and users would view the movie in the place. This was the case for
Darkvalk: Dissonance and others. This tradition continues today;
Stopmotion101 Studios has premieres for most movies they release.
The community spent hours together. Even when many were at school, they'd log onto Skype and talk to each other. This—paired with the emotional comfort they provided each other—created a strong bond between the entire community. Most people loved each other and had the backs of their contemporaries. With time, ROBLOXiwood seemed like home.
However, while all of this might sound cute or brotherly—and, at many points, it was—but a community managed by depressed/anxious teenaged boys was hard to sustain, especially when they're not that educated on how to manage these issues. The unfortunate downside to the Wiki was that it was being managed by teenage boys. There weren't any adults to moderate like there might've been during the ROBLOX Forum era. No matter how mature everyone thought they were, you can only be so emotionally stable at such a young age.
