He assumes if he makes a public post, then Tara Strong will somehow see it and give him the response he desires. In his head, he's thinking that of course she must peruse the internet for cwc updates, why wouldn't she see it?

Maybe he assumes people are going to see it and deliver his message for him. Wouldn't be a stretch, really. Since everything he posts is archived and analysed in-depth by a bunch of people, he probably thinks whatever he says will eventually reach its destination, via trolls.

He certainly used to think that at least when he'd make Youtube videos aimed at specific people or companies.

Towards the beginning of the Court and Tomgirl Sagas it would seem a lot of people sort of lost interest in Chris because they assumed he was just going to jail, but recently I've noted an increase in popularity of Chris again. It would seem /v/, /co/ and Tumblr are picking up on the fact that he's not in jail and actually updates his Facebook semi-regularly and are getting back into his life story.

What do you think this increase in popularity means for Chris, as well as the CWC community?

People who thought he was going to jail for any significant length of time, especially one that would render him incommunicado, are about as bright as Chris.

In general, to go back to Marvin about drawing Chris out of his shell, I think that not only would you have to send him things to complain about, you'd also have to blame him partially, if not completely. It thoroughly upsets him if he's being blamed for destroying the things he loves most, such as Sonic or MLP, and I have no doubt in my mind that trolls would and probably will be able to use that to entice him to start posting more publicly and (however highly unlikely) coerce him into making videos again.

That's an interesting idea, but I think if someone tries that plan, it'd be better to condense the attempts and do fewer attempts, but more aggressive ones, than a bunch of weak attempts. Chris nowadays is quicker to catch on to repetitive troll plots. Remember, this isn't your granpappy Clyde's Chris.

It's like, you gotta hit someone with the whole bottle of antibiotics, not just a little bit, otherwise the bacteria forms a resistance to it.

Chris' brain is like bacteria.

His public fb posts are kind of the modern equivalent of his old youtube videos. If he has someone to bitch at about something - like, say, Tara Strong - he makes a public post. He is lucid enough to understand that Tara Strong cannot see his private posts because she's not on his friends list, but after that it's all downhill. He assumes if he makes a public post, then Tara Strong will somehow see it and give him the response he desires. In his head, he's thinking that of course she must peruse the internet for cwc updates, why wouldn't she see it?

Trolls kind of reinforced this behavior. The videos that he used to make usually did reach their intended target.

Given this recent leak and the amount of hits on that Imgur album, I'd say his popularity online is making a bit of a small spike. Nothing like what it was like in his prime, but definitely noticeable.
