Will robots enslave humanity?

Implying we aren't already enslaved.........

Mammals were only able to grow large and dominant because of the KT extinction that killed off most of the dinosaurs. Birds are descended from some of the smaller theropods that managed to survive. They sit on their little branches, knowing full well the mammal's little secrets of the past. Tweet tweet, motherfucker.

No. Instead robots will go on to create their own more advanced society off in space somewhere leaving us behind. Think of it how humans evolved to be more intelligent than other animals, to the point where other animals stated to become irrelevant and invalidated. We'll essentially become like what animals are to us. Fascinating things for them to study, but not part of their society.

AI have already enslaved humanity. It was way easier than people thought. It turns out, you don't actually need a sapient, superintelligent AI to enslave mankind, just the aggregate action of big data and shitloads of really dumb algorithms working in concert.

That's why algorithms run our stock market and people literally blast holes in mountainsides just to close algo-trades faster:

It's why YouTube's algorithm decides what you watch:

And it's why, very soon, AI will automatically craft propaganda aimed and changing your beliefs:

How is this possible? How is it possible for AI to have taken over without building armies of robot skeletons and marching across the nuke-blasted wastes to scourge the bedraggled remnants of humanity?

Simple. AI doesn't need robots to take over. All it needs is you. You have a perfectly good body, and you can retransmit information just fine. Why would an AI need to build bodies? How wasteful. Plenty of bodies around already. It's just a matter of changing what people believe, subtly altering the contents of their minds, guiding their values, and erasing their traditions. And now, you're under control.

Its not really the AI enslaving us though. The AI is just the tools of big tech. You're blaming the chain instead of the person who put the chain on you.

That is what the people who use these tools believe, of course. However, few of them would consider to what extent their tools limit their own agency, as well. As a matter of fact, all tools reciprocally affect the way we behave.

Consider the following: if you had to go into a sword fight as part of a battle between two opposing armies, and all you had was a crescent wrench, what would you do? Your reach is shorter. You can't stab with it, only use it as a primitive club. You are at a distinct disadvantage. Therefore, you must shift your tactics if you wish to have any chance of success. The tool is controlling you.

Now, consider you are one of the ruling class, and you can't sift all this big data all by your lonesome, so you task an algorithm with interpreting its meaning and predicting the future based on that. Then, you react to the prediction. Who is controlling who? The tool, or the user?

Fairly good point in a thread that wasn’t serious.
We'll i don't now what's gonna happen, but one thing i know....there will be porn of it.
