It has been rumored for literally years now and normally Disney can't help themselves with the money printer, but we still don't have a sequel.

real question is will it be good, and the answer is NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

It was nice to see an original, positive Disney movie with good animation that wasn’t some money making sequel, crap live action, or SJW fodder, it was a fun movie, so I hope there’s a second.

Who knows, I thought they already announced it but it seems to have been forgotten about seeing as it’s been 6 years already…….

Awh well, there’s plenty furry porn of Nick and Finnic to go around…….
And Judy too, if you’re into that kind of thing.

Eh... I'd kinda reconsider that last one since it's very obviously a message about racism and prejudice. But the movie's still good and not too egregious and in your face unlike some other media.

Zootopia had a high box office gross but in terms of merch did it make much?

I could see them making a follow up if their next few movies under preform or out right flop.
Not sure how much kids want zootopia toys and merch but there's definitely another audience eager for merchandise but only japan is shameless enough to cater to them.

Maybe Japan has the right idea, I mean, furry or not you can tell that bunny is thick as fuck.

I don't see any reason to make a sequel. The story gave it's message. It wasn't really a well-thought out universe to begin with, like Cars. I guess they could do some Police Academy-style things, but nobody likes police anymore as another post mentioned. Dreamworks also did the movie "The Bad Guys" which had the same moral as Zootopia so it's instantly irrelevant. I don't see a tv show or sequel going anywhere interesting. Time to move on to something else.

But remember the "oppressed" herbivores were also the ones causing their own "oppression" to gain power over the carnivores/zootopia as a whole.
Although yes it did have a message about racism and prejudice it also had a message about about how it can be exploited by the "oppressed" and how you cant just go off of "oppressors vs oppressed" narratives.

They have a series of shorts set in the same universe (during the timeframe of the story, even) on Disney+.

I loved that about Zootopia tbh, how at first you're ready to accept that predators = white people and prey = black people, but then you get Nick's backstory and it's like, holy shit, it's actually about how racism is bad and not "white people bad."
