Will u RPG what games? - Wii U rpg what games

There's Xenoblade Chronicles, as far as I've heard.... Stuff for the Wii, there's games like Muramasa: The Demon Blade, Castle of Shinigami, No More Heroes, and then there's all the stuff on Virtual Console (but you can emulate that stuff....)

Wii U is one of the worst consoles to buy if you're looking primarily for RPGs. Xenoblade X was basically the only decent exclusive one on the system. The 3DS has a lot more RPGs to offer and isn't too expensive nowadays.

On the topic of other genres, I can only name a few games that might be worth playing. Mario 3D World was a run-of-the-mill Mario platformer, but it was ok. Zelda: Breath of the Wild is great, although a departure from the roots of the series. Wind Waker HD was a decent remaster, but not really worth it if you played the original. A lot of games that were actually good at the time are either inferior to their Switch sequels (Smash 4, Splatoon, Mario Maker) or were ported to Switch with improvements and DLC included (Pokken, Hyrule Warriors, Mario Kart 8.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions is actually pretty decent if you just want an average Atlus RPG. Might be a better idea to hack the thing and unlock its Gamecube backwards compatibility. It can also emulate DS games pretty well. Of course, using it as an emulation machine requires hacking.

Pretty much everything of note on the system has been ported to the Switch and other systems. If you aren't interested in homebrew, a Switch is a better choice. A 3DS would be another great option.

The Wii U's virtual console is no longer around. If Shiversblood just got the system, buying Breath of Fire 2 off there isn't an option.

I think its on the switch so I don't know if it'll work but Divinity Original Sin 2 is good (and the first one too!)
 
The last story and Pandora’s tower are wii games but they’re excellent. Both story driven action rpgs that almost didn’t get a US release. It really sucks how badly they’ve aged in 360p. You can buy a digital copy of Pandora’s tower which might look better through the Wii U’s hdmi.

The Wii U can play Wii games too, so most of the RPGs you'll need a Wii Remote and a Classic Controller for.

Other than RPGs, Super Mario Maker and Super Mario 3D World are really good. Mario Maker controls better than MM2 on Switch because of the gamepad being a nice second screen with a stylus, and Super Mario 3D World is one of the last major games to not have a Switch version yet.

You can hook up a Wii with component cables and get about as good of a picture as you can with a Wii U over HDMI. The Wii U doesn't upscale them at all, you still have to play everything in low definition.

So either you have to play them in shit-o-vision, or you can go through the trouble of setting up Dolphin on your PC and either finding downloads of those games, or going to the trouble of modding your Wii and ripping your discs.
 
I suppose you could always pick up the Wii version of Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Good luck with those disastrous Wii-mote controls though.
 
the best wii u rpgs are the ones you hack onto it. my buddy has one, it's an excellent emulator console, and it supports any gc or wii games you throw at it. apparently the wii u inherently supports gamecube as well as wii original, it just has no way to play the games without hacking it and loading an iso.

I don't know all the details on how exactly they're made, but the Wii U is hardware-wise a souped up Wii, which is in turn a souped up GameCube. Same CPU family and whatever. The same kinda thing is true for the 3DS - it's a souped-up DS, and the DS is a souped-up Game Boy Advance. So you can install Game Boy Advance games onto a 3DS despite the thing never having any official way to do that or buy them (outside of a promo where they gave early buyers 10 free GBA games).

None of that applies to Switch though, it's its own thing. Still, every model of 3DS is hackable and makes a terrific portable emulator console.
