I guess Billy's parents finally had enough and are making him get a real job.

There is a fine line between writing for what you believe in and being unmarketable because you believe diplomacy and civil mindedness is the tools of your enemy. A lot of the people who leeched off Billy's "successes" comment base now is in the single/double digits and despite everything they did, they couldn't even get the game industry to budge a bit in their favor.
This is quite literally business 101 and Billy failed at business by attacking anyone and everyone, endorsing commercial suicide ends as well as you expect
