A person probably wouldn't notice light censorship and it probably wouldn't affect their experience if they weren't aware of it (unless it was really obvious and lazy), but censorship on a particular system would impact my choice on where to buy a game from or if I should just pirate it or not, but I really don't think just screaming about it like these hypocritical assholes do is the solution.
This shit only really bothers me when the original intentions are completely bastardized because the translators were lazy bastards who Google Translated everything with no edits or they inserted hamfisted political or social commentary that wasn't in the original with no justifications save hijacking the media in question as a soapbox.
The former sucks for reasons of quality, and the latter sucks because it's fucking up shit for the benefit of some asshole who wants to ram their personal feelings down my throat.
Otherwise, I can live with a lot of censorship.
Some of the Nintendo censorship of the 1990's resulted in the translators even improving aspects of the original work that were backported in later Japanese releases (Kefka being FF's version of the Joker was born of this) because it was so well received, the original version made him a more boring bog standard nutcase, while America's version was hilarious.
And sometimes censorship is done for understandable reasons of plausibility and good taste.
For example, the Chinese government forced the creators of the gacha game Girls Frontline to censor some of the characters so it looked less sexually explicit, and most of the edits either made more sense (one character with an impractical, fetishy top was given a sensible looking blouse that went well with the rest of her outfit) or were just less tacky (gratuitous panty shots and wardrobe slips on the younger characters were severely toned down or edited out). It can be restored in all other areas if you really want the skeevy stuff back though, but I consider the censored version a general improvement after having seen comparison pics.
And sometimes censorship is done because the alternative is the game won't be sellable if they don't, like how Fallout 3 had to edit an early quest involving a nuclear bomb so it could sell in Japan and did some tweaks to a medicine item's name to get around Australian policies on portrayal of drugs in video games.
However, Usher's ass suffers hemorrhoids at the thought of ANY censorship because he's a shameless deviant who has one hand glued to his dick at all times and he's fooling no one by pretending otherwise.
