There is a big difference between making shit up like the FF7 "controversy" (going back at the article that I commented on two pages back) and reporting on actual Sony censorship like it happened for the few VNs & games on Sony systems. This glorified expansion of LoveR is for once a good case of censorship albeit I have some doubts this will impact the japanese sales in a meaningful way. For example, Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Scarlet still sold better on PS4 on the first release week (13k units versus 7k) despite missing some items that made the girls clothes slippery, since the game was otherwise pretty much the same between PS4/Switch. Unlike Omega Labyrinth that missed a noticeable portion of the gameplay on PS4 which thus reflected on the sales.

The graphics on Switch looks blurrier and I remember user reports that the original PS4 version had framerate issues so I'd assume the Switch could run noticeably worse. The jap audience also might prefer the talk function exclusive to PS4 over small pantsu details. That remains to be seen by next month with the Famitsu sales, I think the Switch has an advantage there (especially the fact it's a first LoveR release on the hybrid console) but there is also a established and still strong audience for third-party games on Sony.

That was in the post-GG aftermath where every reviewer was obliged to complain about tits or the Straight Male Hate Machine. Nobody could cover a Dragon Quest without mentioning problematic cleavage, and that Deacon St. John might be a swell guy, if only he wasn't, you know, white and stabbing goblin children.

The article in question only mentioned that the publisher Kadokawa did a last-minute change on the Nora to Oujo to Noraneko Heart 2 crossover outfit that was originally fan-voted by the japanese players. I mean it's not entirely wrong to think Sony's policies may have been in play possibly but it was so far only an assumption not a proof of censorship. It's not like Kadokawa isnt known for doing plenty of unethical business practices to screw fans & companies beforehand. The Lover Kiss release at least has a more solid base to judge censorship happening as you can compare the two simultaneous releases.

I wouldnt call LoveR a low-effort visual novel imo but it's obviously a simulator on a limited budget. It's developed by the remains of Dingo Inc (known for FE Radiant Dawn, the PSP Hatsune Miku games and Photo Kano, the latter is similar to the current title as a 3D dating simulator) that filled bankruptcy in early 2017 and thus were entirely absorbed by Kadokawa.
