On 1/29/2020, Todd Rogers filed a defamation lawsuit against Guinness World Records Limited, Twin Galaxies LLC, Jason Hall and Spectrum Business Ventures in the fifth Circuit Courts - Hernando County, Florida.

The case then went to sleep for a long time due to COVID. It came back to life when an amended version of the complaint was filed by Rogers
on 4/2/2021. Notice was then issued to all the defendants. So far, Guinness World Records has been the only one to respond.

The lawsuit claims that the Todd Rogers suffered defamation. They further claim that the defamation led to Tortious Interference in his business
and economic interests.
Rogers claims to be in the business of making appearances at video game events for which he received compensation. He says he suffered financial loss
by not being invited to these events after the alleged defamation.
Rogers claims that the defamation was made in statements that claimed:
- He had not earned certain scores
- He falsified certain scores
Todd Rogers claimed he suffered losses over 1 million dollars. He seeks damages of not less than $500,000.
He claims that Guinness defamed him through a statement in the 2019 World’s records gamers edition:
“….In Jan. 2018, our partners at Twin Galaxies (TG) confirmed that his time was not technically possible and he was stripped of the record – though Rogers still insisted it was a legitimate time.”

There isn't really any more than that to say at the moment. The complaint in the case is seven pages long and doesn't provide much more detail than
I have given here. He doesn't describe his income, his losses or give any detailed support as to how much money he was making before he ran into trouble.
