Over the top, hack actor and corporate pitchman for some gay internet travel agent, William Shatner, had a little spat with some people calling him out on twitter for being insensitive towards the fee-fees of internet feminists.

I first saw this on Facebook in a linked Salon article questioning his Star Trek legacy. Most of the relevant Shatner tweets are listed here, so I won't post again for the sake of redundancy.

Most of the salt I can find about it is suggesting he's too old, on the edge of senility, etc. Sorry, I don't know how to link tweets as images without screen capping.

Surprisingly low level amounts of salt, but this was funny.

Lowkey "die Shatner"

Funny how these people throw blankets of praise onto this actors/anyone involved in the arts until they disagree with the common Hollywood political opinion, then they're "LITERALLY HITLER! REEEEEEE!"

This is actually the perfect comparison of the two.

I like both of them.

It's too bad they're both too old for some resurrection of The Odd Couple.

Or maybe not.

Don't write it off too quickly. Shatner's ultra-conservative Boston Legal character same-sex-married liberal James Spader's (albeit for tax reasons) character at the end of that show.

Imagine caring about the political opinions of actors from the 60s. I wonder what Rip Torn's opinion on Palestine is.

I find it weird people call out Takei as the "good one"

On one hand, we have Shatner who, judging by his Twitter, responds to his fans and tweets about his life, and overall having a swell time. He is like your old grandpa that puts up with your shit but is more spry than most people his age, and considering his activity in Reddit and once /x/, he is a bit broader with his boundries.

Meanwhile furious George here is most of the time A-Logging about the administration, while well meaning, his message leaves an impression that he is unable to discuss the subject beyond, "Im gay, fuck trump". Most of the legacy is derived from him saying "Oh, my" which he doesn't plan to quit anytime soon: hell his Twitter page header is an ad for the Kubo movie where he only has one line, try to guess what those are.

Tell us your unsolicited opinions on Israel please.

Jack Klugman approves of Israel and Palestinian rights and wishes we could all just get along.

William Shatner's no James Woods, but at least he's no George Takei.
Until George Takei smacks down say, David S Gallant, he will remain the useless faggot token Asian that he is.

Honestly, Shatner's going to have to be a lot more vocal if he plans to catch up to Takei, which probably won't happen because he seems a little too happy-go-lucky to commit his life to bitching.
