No, you aren't seeing things, Windows 12 is ALREADY being talked about, with new hardware to boot. It's also a leak, so probably take it with a grain of salt until furthur proof arrives.

Key Points:
  • Windows 12 is rumored to be coming in late 2024
  • Microsoft is expected to make AI a big part of Windows, which will also become a mainstay in all processing and gaming hardware in the future.
  • In terms of PC users, most still seem to be rocking Windows 10 - which first arrived in 2015.

I don't really understand this constant need for supposed innovation when what we have now seems to function quite well. I can understand innovating to a point, as the internet of prior decades is something I'm glad I missed out on. Yet, it would seem more prudent to increase the longevity of Windows 10, rather than repackage it as 11 or 12.

Windows XP was designed to run on as little as 64MB of RAM.
Meanwhile, Microsoft's "secure computing" bullshit will probably prevent Windows 12 from running on anything without a PIS-5 security module installed, despite it offering no benefit to 99% of users.

Big gay, switch to Linux. Something like SteamOS 3 could probably work fine for retards and is almost ready.

There have been other rumors suggesting that Meteor Lake-S would top out at 6+16 cores because they would simply use the laptop die for desktop, or that the desktop version will be cancelled altogether in favor of a Raptor Lake refresh and then Arrow Lake. But it should still be on laptops in 2024.

I can only assume ChatGPT will be shoved in every hole of a fast-tracked Windows 12.

Remember when we were promised that Win 10 was the last one?
Microsoft started to name new versions of windows 11, 12, etc. because Apple stopped calling macOS 10.X and switched to 11, 12, and so on. They even switched to one major update in the fall like Apple.

Stop trying to be Apple you'll never be Apple. Just make a boring OS that offices can use.

macOS 11 came out in 2020, Win 10 in 2015, following the trend started by Win 7 in 2009.
