Windows Recall AI snapshots stored in an unencrypted SQL file in appdata. Apparently. Already there is scripts to install it on unsupported devices.

You do know that Linux has existed way longer than the tranny epidemic, right?
Objection!
Turning men into eunuchs to make perfect, unhinged slaves is at least an ancient occult activity. These days it's just becoming streamlined, but the "epidemic" of nefarious scumfucks scrubbing and breaking other people's minds to have absolute control over them is much older than loonuhks.

Wondering if the Recall feature works the same way in MS EDGE, which is opt-in by default on any device I've checked yet .

Show me those rainbows, but I think we might be playing chicken-little a bit too soon.
Now, as a huge Linux user, I will always recommend weaning yourself off Windows whenever possible, but I think people are making a bigger deal out of this that it is.
From what I have read, and from the excellent (IMO) summary Mutahar did in his last video, it appears that there are some limitations to this that people might be overlooking:
1. This feature will only be available on very specific Microsoft tablets and laptops that are running a very specific ARM processor. It's not something that should affect any current Intel/AMD/etc hardware in already existing PCs/laptops/tablets.
2. This is going to be included only in the versions of Windows 11 specific to the hardware referenced in point 1. This will NOT be included in a future Win 11 update. (At least for now.)
3. This appears to be something that you can "turn off", as well as filter what gets screencapped or saved. It will probably be "on" by default, but turning it off appears to be an option.

Now, without question, the fact that this feature is being implemented at all is fucked up like a football bat, and it's mere presence will prevent these devices from passing many of the strict security policies most corporate IT have currently implemented (SOC2/GDPR/etc), but it is easily avoidable by NOT allowing the use of those devices on corporate systems.

As far as I can tell, this is the equivalent of putting all of your homes valuables, jewelry, art, money, etc. in a easy to carry box right inside the front door of your home. Sure, you might have four dead-bolt locks on your front door, BUT should someone successfully break in, they don't need to rummage all through your house looking for loot. You've placed it all in one convenient, easy to locate place where they can quickly pick it up and be on their way.

Assuming each screenshot is about a MB and it does it every three minutes when someone's actively using the PC during the work week, that's about 131GB over the usual four-year lifecycle of an enterprise desktop.

Enterprise desktops with 256GB SSDs are still being sold since you don't really need much more than that for your usual office stuff, so that's going to be a problem.
i seen evidence the screenshots are like 100-150kb

1. It will be coming to Intel/AMD shortly, but yes, not in already existing devices.
2. No, it will be in 24h2, it just won't be allowed to run unless you have an "ai pc". There is no difference between the OS AI pc's run and normal w11. It's just that some features, like this one, will require the "AI" hardware. This means you may be able to enable it if you "hack" your OS. https://www.theverge.com/2024/5/31/...ows-11-recall-ai-feature-unsupported-hardware
3. No, it can be turned off but as of yesterday will now be "off" by default.

Good news for the Mac Bois, Win10 Luddites and that one fuckhead using xp. Less than 24 hours after releasing the award winning totalretard4linux I stumbled upon OpenRecall, a "fully open-source, privacy-first alternative to proprietary solutions like Microsoft's Windows Recall". The tech blogs are already getting excited about it too. Can't make this shit up. Of course nobody's bothered to consider the performance hit of OCRing the screen every 5 seconds when not using hardware acceleration but hey it runs on Windows, Linux and Mac.

In other news BSDChads continue to be ignored by the entire planet as is right and proper.

I'm just sitting here waiting for that shithead Poettering to announce he's working on exactly the same thing for systemd and call anyone who objects a racist homophobe.
You should look up where tea-boy Poettering works now lol

Mint, its really easy and friendly. Get it so you are comfortable with browsing, listning to music, watching videos, whatever it is you do in a more relaxed state. Then when you are doing that, just tinker about, check online how to do shit etc. Makes it easy to pick up I think if you are not overly stressed out about learning everything. Just learn the little bits as you need them.

I recently tried Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC in a VM and its jarring because it is debloated and does not have copilot bullshit and it was released in 2024, I won't call it good because its really fucking unstable but I will call it better than what they give the niggercattle

I used Winutil to make it run better and remove the last little bits of telemetry it has and its a surprisingly decent experience if you use explorer patcher, and because its LTSC it will never get copilot

Even more jarring is that the LTSC version of windows 11 doesnt have any hardware requirements at all so older PCs can run it easily

MS knows they are being gay and forcing people to upgrade for absolutely no good reason at all and that Copilot is just high tech Bonzi Buddy

There seems to be a ton of beginner friendly distros now a days.
Beginners friendly, but not necessarily stable. Zorin OS is pretty and can switch between multiple themes, but it uses a heavily modified Gnome and several of the applications it provide are unstable, such as the application manager sometimes just refusing to work. Nobara is very patchwork with the underpinnings popping up all the time.

So far Linux Mint is still the most stable, with a built in IRC help line if you need it

My journey so far has been -> Ubuntu (i found out gnome looks like ass) -> Mint (for some reasons wouldn't do nvidia drivers for my 4090) -> manjaro (people in the linux thread convinced me off it because devs in the past fucked it up) -> garuda (friend had me try it, i liked it and felt like wayland was nice out the box but i didn't like the starter UI and used chat gbt to help me change all the UI stuff i wanted to change pretty easily) -> atrix (because i found out its devs don't like trannies)

Considering? You should be on Linux now.
Easier said than done. In an Enterprise environment there's a real inertia when it comes to changing vendors. Sure we'd save on licensing but we'd have to train all the helpdesk drones on Linux or hire Linux engineers and they don't come cheap. Windows guys are a literal dime a dozen.

Most likely if it comes down to it they'll look to see if there's a way to block those requests or to disable it completely.

Ok so windows 10 is fine?
As far as we know. Every copy of Windows going as far back as 95 does, at some point, "phone home". It's like if you use Chrome everything you do is sent back to Google even if you use private windows. Microsoft likes to call this "Diagnostic and usage data" which is supposed to be stripped of any personal information but.. it's Microsoft. Nobody really knows what they're doing.

If you use Cortana it sends information back. If you use Alexa or Siri it sends information back. Nothing you do on your computer is 100% private unless you never connect it to the internet.

If you spend enough time around Arch/Artix developers you'll find we're usually people with families, children, etc. I spent a ton of time in 2021-2022 working with blackarch/arch core developers and I don't think I met a single troon or femboy despite the memes. I mean ffs the Arch project lead is a Hungarian sperg who says really spicy shit when he's drunk.

One of the top devs is also a Pole who told a cunt that kept sending retarded merge requests to go 41% himself.

People should stop getting their info about Linux from Discord servers dedicated to distros. They're all gay and retarded, and naturally change their icons to pride flags every year like fucking lemmings despite not representing any globohomocorpos. The core dev teams are actual fucking people, some of them with accounts here :suffering:
