I’m mostly familiar from this thread and the troll highlight videos. I watched one of his random streams and it was unbelievably boring. Sat in total silence playing a game badly. Oozed so much depression it would’ve been preferable to neck than continue watching.

Is there anyone who unironically enjoys this crap?

I really do have to assume his meagre viewership is loser-trolls trying to become the next Shaun Ranklin.

I think he has a few people that enjoy his streams in a parasocial fashion. Like they enjoy "hanging out" with Wings or something like that. There's no way anyone is actually there for the gameplay that's true. But streaming is often more about parasocial shit than having killer gameplay anyways (just look at the popularity of twitch thots).

It has been extremely dull lately.

Thankfully there are a few channels that will take it to the bank off Richard for our enjoyment, but I do wonder if trolls are what keeps Wings relevant.

The toxic environment Wings brings to life with his streams is something he'll never understand or take responsibility for.

He wouldn't have trolls if he wasn't such a bad person. Who he is today doesn't excuse what was done or said in the past.

Until he learns to do a better job at streaming and maintaining his emotions, there will always be a viewer or person he hurts and gives the trolls more validity.

He has trolls because he always reacts and lets them get under his skin, he can't help it. That's the basic reason that anyone has trolls, because the trolls are able to get reactions. I think it was literally last night or maybe night before he was doing one of his "just chatting" streams and he just complained about too many trolls in his chat asking him about Shailene/Brandi and shit like that then ended the stream.

I do think his trolling gets turbo-charged by the fact that he embodies an extremely hateable stereotype, maybe the most hateable in Current Year, namely that of a fat dumb egotistical redneck. Even though that's not fully who Wingo is his appearance and manner conveys it and I do think that makes it easy for people to dehumanize him.

And I will also say that I just plain don't know how to explain the levels of turbo autism that we can find in his "trolling community." Like to the point of having literal "troll civil wars." Not sure that I've ever heard of that with any other lolcow lol. I don't think I've ever even seen the term "troll community" anywhere else, maybe with DSP who has his "detractor community."

Breaking Banquet is an interesting combination of high production value and absolutely dogshit content because he's apparently desperate to regularly release long videos even when Richard does fuck all. I wonder if part of it is that there was that period where Wings "troll channels" just dedicated to clipping him and such were viable as an entire sort of sub-genre on Youtube, like people could get quite a bit of views (and thus clout and ad money) just from doing that. That puts a reward system out there for people to reach and tryhard to "troll wings" in order to get some of those sweet sweet Youtube views, and then you get all the inevitable gay Internet drama from there. The Wings "troll channels" that are around now still seem like they are chasing those old "glory days" even though they are only a pale shadow of what once was.

With most other lolcows I feel like there is not that window of opportunity where people could make their whole Youtube channel just based off of following/trolling that one cow. And the few that I can think of (DSP, Chris chan) are also cases where there was gay infighting and/or really heinous shit being done among some parts of their "troll community."

It also has that 2013-2016 style of highlighting "funny" random words with no context (video goes "lasagna... tweeny dulluhs... awhnestly... PIIIIEEEEEEMP!" wtf is that!?), which is basically useless if you're archiving and documenting someone. I get that Richard isn't funny anymore, so why even bother?
