While I don't stick my nose into the underground trolling space, I do believe they are very self-aware. From what I can gather, calling Wings a racist, sexist, whatever it may be, is an unorganized gaslighting campaign. Most of the people involved in pushing this sort of trolling are in their early 20s, very in touch with irony and can understand none of this is real. They do not genuinely believe Wings is hateful, or a danger to children.
All the old clip channels either got nuked off youtube or stopped uploading for the fact that, like you said, Wings is pretty much dead and boring at this point. The best trolling was when it was strictly uploading clips of him having meltdowns on stream screaming and whipping controllers around. Now he's just depressing.

There were also people of really professional standing, too, who were trolling the fuck out of Wings, one of whom was a Canadian lawyer, who when pressed by Wings with a suicide bait question simply answered "I'm glad I'm in Canada, then!" They don't care if Wings actually grabbed his 1911 and blew his brains out the next day, next week, or month. None of them care, it's not concern trolling, it's not even fun trolling. Wings' trolls are what people accuse the KiwiFarms of being: literal fucking bullies.
It's almost concerning how obsessed with Wings some of them are. I can't help feel, that they must get some sort of sadistic pleasure out of watching an obese man eat, complain, play himself to death.

It's location. EDP445 was in a much better location to actually go out and get his cupcakes. Jordie lives in bumfuck nowhere, where everyone knows everyone. The odds of anyone living close enough and wanting to catfish him like they did EDP445 are MUCH smaller.

It is interesting to see the hypocrisy within the communities. One side wants to make money off Wings to keep "trolling" going and the other wants to deplatform him. It feels more like a gaslight campaign than anything. This is all I was able to gather in the limited time I have since they regularly wipe.
You would think these knuckleheads would work together to take wings down. If one side is making money while doing it and the other isn't well sucks to suck. It's the exchanging of money and secret deals that comes off as shady and make it seem fake.
I could find some other content creator to watch besides Wings, But is deplatforming him completely too far and who are these people that try to judge?
