I used to read Cracked years ago because I was in a video game group on Facebook and the people there would spam links to articles from the site. A few of them were a little funny. Mostly it was just dumb shit. After a while I took to spamming the comment sections for fun. The site had this old issue where you could click post repeatedly and it would post the same comment over and over again. I would generally just copy and paste long lines of vulgar language and racial slurs. I always made sure it was really long so it would break the sites UI. Then sit back and watch people complain. It was pretty hilarious. Way more entertaining than a lot of the garbage they were posting. I even owned a copy of Cracked magazine back in the 90's when The Lost World Jurassic Park released in theaters. The actual Cracked magazine was pretty edgy. Of course, it was a lot of immature humor. One of my middle school teachers saw me reading it and said Cracked was trash compared to Mad Magazine. Calling Cracked the poor man's Mad Magazine. The actual Cracked mag was better than the website.

I really don't understand how that can be a thing, Woke seems to me like bullshit you either swallow from the start or you don't, how can you see through it at one time and then turn around and swallow it? It's like believing a magic trick is magic after being shown how it's done.

Yeah, pretty much. Even when I was in college & friends with hardcore leftists, I didn’t buy it. I might’ve said whatever to appease whoever I was near but I quietly rolling my eyes.

Now I’m much more aggressive.

I wonder how many students are true believers and how many students are just conformers. It’s easier to be conformist when you’re young and want to fit in. But when rubber hits the road, you really got cut it out.

I don't think so. Zoomers have been fully indoctrinated into it. The 'woke' world is their world. I feel that they've settled into it a bit more and probably haven't yet reached an age where they begin noticing things. I think zoomers will be less likely to perpetuate it since it will just be the mode of life as far as they're concerned and that's where the die-off will begin, but the effects that it wrought will be here for some time; things like white guilt, male guilt, "privilege," race baiting, etc. I don't think they see through it so much as they don't have any other side to look at yet.

Woke irony began with affirmative action. The societal movement with SJWs, the Woke left, and all of this new LGBT culture was barely necessary when American (and western) policy began placing minorities on a pedestal. Even as a child I knew that placing blacks above whites and giving them more opportunities for being statistically worse off makes no sense if we're trying to live in a world free of racism. The irony, I suppose, is believing the Woke left is trying to promote or grow anyone when in fact their objective is to even the playing field by making everyone equally inopportune, and it always has been.

Just... fuck, you know what I mean? The undeniable decline of everything from 2013-2022 is really too much to take, what the fuck went wrong? Why did the more levelheaded takes not win? Are people really just that retarded?

The thing that went wrong is that an entire generation has been brainwashed to think the left can do no wrong and are the cool kids. Not only this created a climate of incrementing extremism, but those leftists indoctrinated the next generation and gained control on most of the power in business and government.

The Western culture is in freefall not only because purely ideological based recruitment and writing, but also because they continually search for retarded entertainment as to not think about how self contradictory and self harming their ideology is.

I remember Winston Rowntree. He made some nice art, but it was bogged down by his bad habit of being needlessly verbose and taking forever to get to anything resembling a point. It shows that leftist memes being walls of text is nothing new. As for the increasing craziness of leftism, this is the logical conclusion of their worldview. What started off as freedom from the constraints of government has evolved into freedom from the constraints of reality. We can already see this with their obsessive desire to promote transsexuality. Given the way things are going, they'll probably be promoting otherkin bullshit by the end of the decade. They already believe that a man can be a woman simply because he says he is. People self-identifying as animals is the logical next step, and if you oppose that, then you'll be branded as a hateful bigot.

Leftist movements in other developed countries have their problems but have mostly stuck to things like labor rights, more powerful unions, that kind of thing. To the extent they have embraced identity politics it’s almost entirely due to influence from the US.

Identity politics/tranny rights/etc is a perfect way to cripple actual leftist gains: big companies can just put up a big Pride logo and hire a few troons while continuing to exploit workers and destroy the environment, and any grassroots attempt at organizing gets torn apart because the absolute worst most narcissistic people (trannies) are pushed to the top.

Because the USA had the Civil Rights movement in the 1960s, and more than any country other than France, has a governing ethos rooted in the Enlightenment. And, unlike France, we don't have much of a sense of tradition or ethnic identity. And as an icon, Martin Luther King, Jr holds the place in American culture that the Virgin de Guadalupe holds in Mexican culture. Very hard for others to understand how Americans have reverential awe for blacks.

A major reason for idpol is US law makes it a legal requirement at any large company to have a part of the organization dedicated to stamping out offensive speech and ensuring that you have enough women, nigs, etc working for your organization. This part of the organization, known as Human Resources, even has the power to expel the senior executive leadership if they offend women or fags or whatever. This has proven an extremely effective means of social control.

I don’t disagree with all of that (although plenty of other countries have HR departments or the equivalent). The idpol ideology is something unique to America (although it has spread elsewhere and will continue to do so) and was facilitated by modern social media. So it doesn’t hold up that it is the “natural end point of leftism” as the other poster was saying; it’s unique to a time and place. Troonism in particular could only have grown out of an extremely individualistic, consumeristic society.
