I am generally annoyed by the discourse over KCD2, because it is just shitty "POZZED" memeing of fags that never even played the first game and are neither really interested at the history of the time, the gameplay or even the quests.

Honestly, I would say that 99% of the people complaining online about games never play games, they just complain, read a tweet that they agree and complain more.

Jon Del Arroz is a top grifter. Every interaction he has online is to drive clout and generate atention to the website he is writing for. He also claimed that KG2 has explicit CP depiction in it, which if it true, it not only wouldn't have been allowed on steam, but you'd most likely hear it in other main stream publications. He seems to be working with Melonie Mac, having her retweet his articles so that he can then write articles on her tweets and feed off each other.

I wouldn't be so sure. Games have gotten so bad lately even people I know who aren't terminaly online are noticing that something is "off". The reason that grifters are sucesful isn't because they are convincing the audience of their points, but because the audience just wants to hear some idiot express their own views to them.

Yes I saw, but did you see the article he wrote? He claims that the game has EXPLICIT depcitions of sodomy with Children.
I don't even need to play the game to know this is false. The game would of had an AO rating first of if any type EXPLICIT content was shown. And it would have been banned on steam if this was the case as well as major publications would have reported on it due to its nature.
What JDA did was he got asshurt due to his boycot being unsucesful, then found a technicality in the codex while ignoring that the codex is based on the historical events. Meanwhile the game obviously deviates from the codex on many occasions.
To explain how ridiculous his claim is. Imagine if you play God of war, where Kratos is obviously a 40 year old man. But a fringe codex entry somewhere claims he is 12.
Any reasonable person would discard what the codex is saying at that point.

Skill Up is a normalfag with extremely retarded mainstream opinions, but he at least seems genuine. Mortismal seems the same to me, altho he also has some real normie dogshit opinions. Recently, Skill Up has been mocked for crying about not being able to carry everything not nailed to the ground in Stalker 2 meanwhile Mortismal gave Veilguard a positive review.

I’m probably going to be crucified now but I’ll defend Mortismal a bit.

One thing is for sure about him: he’s definitely not a political grifter on either side. Every video I’ve ever seen from him he just focuses on things like gameplay and technical performance and never gets involved in calling out woke or anti-woke. There’s nothing clickbaity about him.

Plus he deserves some respect for spending literally years growing a channel dedicated to the fairly niche genre of CRPGs before BG3 broke big. I like the way he analyses games and his voice doesn’t irritate me at all.

Still, I can see why some people would criticise him, especially after that shitshow of a Veilguard review. I just don’t understand how he could have said it was probably going to be game of the year when it’s so radically different (and simplistic) compared to what he usually enjoys. His reputation took a huge hit there. Also he’s very rarely super critical of anything, it may be that he’s just a terminally nice and uncontroversial kind of guy, but you do wonder whether he gets paid to shill sometimes. And yes, there have been some legitimate questions asked about his 100% claims and possible use of Steam achievement manager.

But ultimately I’ll always find myself going back to his channel when I want to watch some CRPG content and I’ve found, bought and enjoyed some smaller games and older gems thanks to his videos. Despite everything I would say I’m a Mortismal fan, he‘s nothing like some of the disgusting grifters and traitors in this thread.

Someone like Mortismal is a random review; he might like a game or not. However, he only does random reviews and is not part of the anti-woke group. He is not trying to grift anyone or claiming to be some based red-pill cunt who, as soon as there is any pushback, switched on a dime.

I'm not sure Vee is a grifter, unless someone has some info that I lack. He is a degenerate sure, but his takes, while dumb, have mostly been consistent. Regarding KC2 he said it looks woke due to the community managers hey've hired and that such people wouldn't work in a non-woke environment (a dumb take, but it's what he said). He then claimed that despite the "outrage," he predicts the game will sell. He got attacked by his own audience for this take, which ended up being correct.

As for him being a Christian, that seems to be a new take. As far as I know from watching the ArchCast and even the D&D sessions, way back, he always claimed to be an atheist.


Synth is also not a grifter. The man has far more to lose and almost had his channel terminated because of his views. He is very clear on what he believes and I've not seen him compromise or backtrack a single time, despite his own viewers pressuring him to do the opposite on several occasions.

The first thing kabrtutus did when his curator list got famous was try to make money from it. So it was grift. He try to do some personal letter thing with a patreon to start a youtube channel. He also tell devs to send him games so he can "clear" them before release. He's also defended woke stuff in games he liked that were woke. Also he is from Brazil.

This is the difficulty that other people in this thread also are having when saying what a "grifter" is. Because if you use your time to make content and videos you should make money because time is money. But for kabrutus this might be different because I think he is just doing this to line his pockets and not really push against the stuff that is bad for games. I must admit I dont know everything but am searching.

Like how I know Synthetic Man says that baldurs gay 3 is woke but he enjoys the gameplay. That is easy. Just call out the woke and stay true but also if you enjoy stuff you say that too. I would say this list is accurate for actual grifters as they all refuse to judge this game by their past standards and every single one refuses to talk about how the devs lied and hid things.
Everyone of them refuses to say anything out of fanboyism or they are afraid of the backlash from the media.
