I know those exist, sure. The ones who manage to remain celibate. But there's a very large number of priests who cannot live with this inhumane requirement. In the village of my in-laws, in ten years time two(!) priests where "sent away" because they had sexual relationships with a woman in their church. Both fathered a child with them. One is a very close personal friend of my family. It practically ruined his life, and the little girl's family does not allow her to meet her own father anymore because the mother "brought shame on the family" by sleeping with a priest.

A lot of priests are relocated all the time and the reasons why are often kept silent. I think this is one of the reasons. They're still men, human beings. And human beings have desires. It is unnatural and cruel not to allow them to act upon these feelings, if it involves consenting adults.

Now I personally have a great deal of respect for Catholics, seeing as though I am marrying into a Catholic family. But that does not stop me from criticizing certain aspects of the faith, and the whole celibacy business is one of my biggest issues with the Catholic Church.

There are too many stories like this, and many more yet to be uncovered. It is a nonsense rule, plain and simple. And Jesus never recommended it. Hell, Saint Peter, the first Pope? Dude was married and a father. Give the poor priests a break already, when the guy who first inspired the papacy wasn't even celibate.

My (deeply religious) grandmother once told once told me: "Jesus and Peter where realistic, friendly fellows. Peter was married, Jesus had no probem befriending prostitutes and the poorest of the poor. I like those guys. But then there's this Paul guy! He's a douchebag. He hates women..." then, she added: "I'm pretty sure he never married 'cus he was just gay." Grandma Satan keeping it real.

Anyway, I dunno, I think they should just look up to the example set by Saint Peter and throw away the rule of celibacy. It would safe a lot of people a lot of misery. I've seen this shit literally break a family apart and destroy the life of a man I greatly admire, who because of this taboo can never see his daughter again.

I definitely agree that this requirement is impossible for many people. In fact, I think I heard the clergy during the Roman Empire and/or the early Middle Ages had sexual relationships with women once. But it's after the rise of monastic orders that led to celibacy to all clergy. Seeing how these monasteries were being "celibate" and tried to live the lives of martyrs, it led to the public wanting all of clergy to purge sexual desires.


Edit: However, the point still stands that sex isn't everything in life. I doubt today's Wall Street conglomerates fucked their way to the top.

Jokes aside, maybe it's because different women are attracted to different things. I mean, I know a guy I work with that doesn't look anything like Ronnie from Jersey Shore, and yet he's engaged. He must be doing something right.

That would be it. Women are like men in that they too are attracted to different things. Some women like a guy who exercises, some women like a guy who is academic, and some women like a guy who has facial hair. Even then, it's not just about preferences, it's also about personality. If the academic guy the woman was attracted to had a horrible personality (misogynistic, obnoxious, etc.), she'd be turned away by such a personality. If the man who exercised had conflicting views (religious, political, etc.), there may not be relationship between him and the woman attracted to him. If the guy who had facial hair didn't really understand the woman attracted to him and only wanted sex, the woman has good reasons to end the relationship.
 
If people stopped confusing 'love' with 'someone I really want to bang' then the loveshies wouldn't be alone. They need to grow up and realize that even if a woman confessed her attraction to them they'd find something wrong with her, invariably. They're just that self important.

Yes, but that doesn't mean that some types are not generally preferred over others. While the invaders here are way overblowing it, inequality in socio-sexual success does exist. There is a variety of possible reasons for this, however, it seems from my observations that lack of success can be depressing and henceforth keep the person in question in a vicious cycle. Depressed people are generally less dateable, all other things being equal.

None of these things are mutually exclusive to getting a woman, but some things do work better than others. I'm pretty sure pacing back and forth naked banging a drum in front of the local courthouse isn't one of them, though.

Not having a girlfriend or being single/not having a fuckbuddy does not make you "beta," at least not in and of itself. At least the misc and /fit/ guys are doing something with their lives other than bitch about their inability to get women on the internet. Well all right, maybe they do that, too, but still, my point is that at least they have a hobby that isn't bitching about women on the internet.

I couldn't agree more. I think I should be able to sue my rapist, AND stab him in the throat with a pitchfork, AND set him on fire, AND drown him a while... you know, punish him multiple times. Which would be using his body as an object to take out my anger on. Which is pretty much what the rape-apologist wing of the incels are all about doing to teh ebil wimminz.

We really don't need people coming from other forums and calling our users what is effectively their own synonym for "useless". So please don't do that.

lol...im a woman, and i do have a lil bit of the 'tism when it comes to relationships. For a long time thought i was asexual actually. Turns around out that like the majority of girls, it matters to me if someone values themselves. Taking care of yourself, whether that manifests in working out, studies or other forms of self improvement, is hugely attractive in itself. Wallowing in self pity is not. Coming from self pity to then achieving goals and improving oneself is.

anyway...unfortunately this prob wont help the shies. Big muscles, a six pack and a degree generally wins. Deal with it.
