According to authorities, Ellis allegedly stole two knives from the Volunteers of America store and then walked next door to Giant Eagle, in the 27000 block of Lorain Road, where she spotted a 38-year-old woman pushing a child in a cart.
Authorities say Ellis followed the mother and her son, Julian Wood, into the parking lot and then stabbed the child while he was in a grocery cart. When the mother tried to pull the boy out of the cart during the attack, Ellis stabbed her as well.

Video of her court arraignment (when they finally got her there. Third time's the charm apparently) is actually pretty disturbing. She acts like she's on America's Next Top Model instead of facing murder charges.

I am pretty anti-death penalty because it is a bell you cannot unring but this sack of shit who has probably spent her life as a drain on everyone else's until she finally just took a life directly is pushing me on the issue.

Some people are rabid dogs, and some people have no remorse. It's honestly more cost effective, as well as humane in the long term to put these rabid animals down.
Before anyone makes the obvious joke, I mean murderers.
What's the point in having an absolutely massive building with hundreds of people exactly like her, where every day is a danger to inmates who have done much less heinous crimes, or even the prison guards just trying to do their jobs, when you know these psychopaths won't have a single regret for what they've done and could be more than willing to turn on someone else? There's no rehabilitating this type of person, you can't fix this type of broken brain, where the very core of your soul is tainted.
Of course there's always risks of innocent people being convicted, but I honestly think life in prison with only a tiny sliver of hope for freedom is honestly worse. Especially if you were in there for years, good fucking luck getting a job or loan for literally anything, even if it got expunged from records, 10 years of no work is still 10 years of no work or credit being built. You will still have family and friends that eye you with suspiscion. At least with death penalty, there's hope for societal pressure to absolutely make sure you have the right person. There's much less pressure for life because well they're at least alive, fed and sorta safe.

I'm calling premeditated. She walks past a long list of people before spotting someone with a child and specifically follows them out to the car park where there were fewer others in close proximity to stop her.

Worth noting that she walked away after doing that. The police didn't catch her in the car park, she sure as shit did not run and she still had the knife. So she went on a full on stabbing spree then sauntered on her way only to be found later when she seems to have surrendered without much need for negotiations.

Believe it or not but judges can and do throw more time on your sentence by the way you act in court. I saw a dude mutter fuck once in court and the judge added a extra 2 months for "disrespecting the court" so the way she is acting isn't gonna help her

This is why my take is "We need the absolute highest standard of evidence to execute someone, and everyone who meets that standard of evidence must be executed, with the execution happening at the nearest convenient date."

No 10 year wait, optimally they're going to do it behind the courthouse after your sentence is announced.

I say this a lot but I truly do believe that black people are not as evolved as europeans and even asians are.
I am convinced they are lacking a critical part of the frontal lobe that deals with remorse, decision making and consequences.
Of course there are always exceptions to the rule, but in this case there are not many.
They are like goldfish in the don't remember someone from one minute to the next.
My anecdotal comparison is my sister got hit by a car as a teenager and suffered frontal lobe brain damage. They told my mother she would have trouble with understanding consequences, decision making and remorse, as that was the part of the brain that got damaged.
I believe it is something in this area that black people have not developed.

This used to happen in the UK but doesn't because of CPS ruling but - the idea is say I stole like this fucker two knifes and I looked at you an said I am gonna try an kill some one with this knife an showed you one knife, and then I held up another and said I am going to try to kill someone with this one too you have stated your intention to commit two crimes, and while you may have attempted both crimes and committed another one that is its own separate charge both crimes can be charged, but the more serious crime takes precedent an the other is considered a criminal motivating factor or something along those lines.
