Center of gravity

On the PS5 unboxing stream, while holding the console, he repeatedly said it did not have a center of gravity. Everything that has weight has a center of gravity, valedictorian.
Oh that shit pissed me off, cause it's not the only time he likes to pull basic physics/engineering terms out of the air and try to use them in a way that makes no sense. Like, he will bitch about how certain games don't obey the laws of physics without understanding how a game's physics engine works. Off the top of my head, during his NFS Payback playthrough (one of my favourite TIHYDPs) he gets his car going over 200MPH (Over 320KMH if you like using a good unit of measurement) and then slams into another vehicle. His car pops up, and starts spinning on it's nose which he declares as breaking the laws of physics. Totally oblivious that when you get a car going that fast and then get it off the ground, it acts like a plane's wing with how the air is flowing over it and that will cause it to start spinning out of control through the air.

He doesn't understand these terms, and therefore shouldn't use them. I was going to post about the center of gravity since thing has mass, it has a COM and a COG, he just can't find it cause he's a retard, it's probably shifted towards the back since that's where the weight is likely concentrated.

Racing games in general are full of these, pretty much all racing games I've watched him play and any game with heavy driving focus like GTA, you will see him fishtailing at least a dozen times. He will bitch about how this is unrealistic dood, I just keep fishtailing! All the while you can hear that he isn't letting off the gas at all, hell he has the pedal to the metal and he keeps overcorrecting time and time again until he finally hits something.

I remember he had some tweet comparing playing a game to computing the velocity required to get the statue of liberty to escape earth's atmosphere. An actual scientist replied and told him the velocity of any object escaping the atmosphere is a constant and would not require calculations.

My favorite DSP science fact is when he went to the zoo with Leanna and told her to look at the sloth. It was in the African biome and it was actually some kind of monkey. There was a sign right there saying what it was.

I've said this before in the main thread, I'm pretty sure. It's not just driving games that he doesn't understand the physics of. Watch him play any 3D platformer, Mario 64 is a great example of this. He will bitch about how when he lands from a jump, the character won't just stop on a dime, there'll be some follow through, same thing for stopping from running. These things aren't engineering or science degree levels of knowledge, this is basic shit that you understand intuitively. He lacks it totally.

That I'd be more willing to forgive if it were anyone else who didn't act like they were smarter than everyone else. I remember that exactly when it was posted, and I honestly glossed over the velocity thing as "idiot layman trying to talk like an engineer" that I encounter all the time. He got into a discussion with another guy who pointed out the mistake and acted like he was just mistaken and meant something else because he can't ever be wrong or not know something.

And then she turned and looked at him.

It's a virtual orgy behind closed restaurant doors I tells ya.

Wonder what stopped him from asking why they had to make a black version of the Pauly Shore movie. :story:

If Phil stopped using words he didn't understand, his vocabulary would essentially be the first 100 kindergarten sight words, supplemented with burps, snorts, and goat noises.

So, not much would REALLY change.
Phil has gone on the record saying that he has such a large vocabulary because he read a lot of comic books.

He was so disappointed that he and his wife, Khet, won't be able to eat out at restaurants anymore. Tough times, man.
