He was also trying to use the use word favorably (as in 'Google acted favorably towards X') but instead came up with a new one: favoratisticly.

While more of a 'D$P Learns a New Word' than a misuse, I'll place this here as it is lexicon related.

D$P, ranting about 'input delay' during his newest Dark Souls run, happened to look at the chat and see folks talking about buffering. His diatribe instantly changed to replace the word 'delay' with the word 'buffering'. In true D$P fashion, he went on to repeat this shiny new word ad nauseam for the remainder of his tirade.

The person who runs the school website gave me his name when I asked who was the 2000 valedictorian. The only proof I have was the message. Even though it seems unlikely, you have to factor in the school's low educational quality ranking and the school being Catholic and probably teaching creationism over science. Phil himself admitted he did not get straight A's. When the top student does not have a 4.0 gpa you kind of have to question the quality of the school.

He's...not exactly wrong. A cat wants to use a thing like a litter box because most people don't have things on their floor to allow them to bury their waste, which is an instinct. If you introduce a cat to even a completely new space, if they're show the litter box or discover it on their own they'll want to use it unless they're very old and/or have certain neurological or physical issues.

"Benefit of the Doubt" .

(1) Normal use: Behave like a statement is true for several reasons, f.e. the conclusion is irrelevant for now; OR articulate a counter-argument based on the supposedly wrong statement; OR literally "I have doubt but I'll give you that" . Not really usable during fact-talk or else you sound like an idiot.

(2) DSP use: Used during fact-talk. Pretend you understood and learned sonething, and are a real adult, but you are just a tiny scared piglet. Proceed to be a moron and shittalk openly in your savety bubble without any arguments towards the original statement or anyone else. Also known as "Pretending to be adult / intelligent".

Seriously, the first thing I thought by reading his goutrage was "Does he even know what this phrase means?"

I may be hellishly wrong here but I think you misunderstood the point of this thread. It's about words/phrases Dave invented or massively abuses. Literally words/phrases he uses completely wrong, not random childish insults he throws around.

For example if I would say: Your use of this thread is "misustageous". Or if I say: "You can eat your cake and bake it too" in a non-joking manner.

Phil doesn't understand that having a large vocabulary doesn't just mean using a lot of words, if you don't know what they mean then you sound worse than the guy who uses the same two or three phrases for everything. At least that guy has an understanding of what he is actually saying.

Phil sees that the word has "ultimate" in it so he assumes that it means the best, even though ultimate also means the last. I wonder what he would say if people started correcting him on these words and phrases that he uses incorrectly.
