Words & Phrases DSP Has Invented or Misuses - DSP'isms that make you say "HUUUHN?!?"

"Hindsight is 50/50"

Edit: Video 42:21

Out of curiosity, according to PigPigGo he says a lot of, and I quote: "Like they say, hindsight is 20/20".
Who says that, Phil? They? So ... mankind? It's their phrase, not yours? Or you implying you don't fully understand what this phrase means?

Your timestamp has another weird misused phrase: "I'll do (or don't do) X because I'm a nice guy". Often said when he stops himself from turning absolute apeshit on his audience. He's nice to you and WON'T ban you outright (followed by hateful slurs, really nice guy) or immediately changes his decision because chat protests (and still bans you for saying a word he dislikes; seeeee I told you he's a mouth drooling troll).

In this clip he says it without malicious intend, only part of a lame joke.
Btw Phil, jokes work less effective if people dislike you. And you do a fine job of keeping up this image of yours.

You don't get it you mentally ill nudnik. Dave can reflect on things from the past with perfect vision....needing to wear glasses DEBUNKED. Thank you Wurstbrot for posting....this is sad for an adult but then again he is 39 going on 15. The booze and hermit life have not been good to him.

He should just finally admit what a clown he is and take a page from the Joker.

The Joker from The Killing Joke said:
Something like that happened tome, you know. I...I'm not exactly sure what it was. Sometimes I remember it one way, sometimes another... If I'm going to have a past, I prefer it to be multiple choice! Ack ack ack!
He's probably retconned his own past more times than the Joker has.

Given how much of Phil's education on life seems to have come from wrestling, I have to wonder if watching the Batman: The Animated Series may have quite literally given him the idea to just make it up as he goes along. Seriously, Phil acts so much like a fictional fucking character that I'm forced to conclude that it's not an accident. Everything I know about him points to him taking more cues from entertainment than from any wise words uttered by his parents or other mentors in his life. It would explain why he thinks he can be popular while being an asshole, like a wrestling heel or a cartoon supervillain. We know he has trouble with the difference between fantasy and reality, he thought wrestling was real until college.
"Breaking the 4th wall". His phrase of the week. He's using it like it means discovering the unspoken motive of a character or something. Hard to decipher porcine thought patterns. Funny enough, he didn't use it when it actually came up (Nier characters thanking the player).
What gets me about this is that I'm pretty sure Phil has seen Deadpool, which of course features fourth wall breaks, and, while it doesn't outright explain what a fourth wall break is, only someone so dense as the pigroach would fail to figure it out, with the way that they're used. Especially the part where Wade does a fourth wall break WITHIN a fourth wall break, and points it out. But Phil was probably too busy still laughing at a previous joke that was more juvenile anyway.

He was too busy clapping, leg slapping and laughing at the chase scene when Deadpool’s balls go into the dude’s face,
“ahgahgahgahgahg that guys face totally got smashed by Deadpool’s nuts nyuhuhuhuh. Dude, that was too funny.”

This much I would lean towards agreeing with. The one thing that kinda torpedoes it, for me anyway, is that his insistence that he can be popular tends to boil down more to his sense of entitlement. Mistah J just makes shit up because he's chaos personified, and he gets a kick out of it. When Phil revises history and teleports the goalposts to Kazakhstan, he does so to make himself: A.) Look like the total victim of everyone else's misdeeds and he deserves better treatment, B.) Minimize any sort of responsibility or culpability he had in any retconned event because it wasn't his fault he did everything correct, C.) Completely shit on any documented 'evidence' that he hand-waives as "That was out of khantext, dood!" without any additional explanation (or just reverts back to option B for an ahnline khambo) *LIMB*, and/or D.) It's all of the above since his loyal cult members only believe in the words from the emperor of the Gouter Rim, and any newcomers get to hear about all the ways that dearest leader is the best shtreemer in the world and deserves all the cheerssubssuperberriesmembershipsandtips. He is and always will be the perpetual underdog in his own eyes. His gin-pickled brain is just stuck in a constant self-serving Mandela effect loop.

The convenient timing on his retcons does indeed call into question his level of awareness of what he's doing, this is true. I just think maybe he got into the habit as a kid, because we know he treated people like shit, was generally lazy, and hid behind a keyboard long before he became an infamous figure. Not to mention his issues with understanding how the world works, that had to have caused him problems well before even entering the FGC. Dude didn't even know to rotate cushions around on a couch until like 2016 when his parents came to see his new condo. He has been creating reasons to have to retcon his own shit in order to "win" for most of his life, by all appearances, so it may go back far enough that he would rely upon shit he saw on TV.

Either way, he has had a lot of practice at it and still sucks, which is just, as Nigel would say, utterly exceptional.

This reminds me of how he keeps using "With great power comes great responsibility". He probably legitimately thinks that nobody ever figured out the nature of power and the responsibility that comes with it until some dude in the 20th century drawing comic books cracked the case. Plato? Aristotle? Luke's gospel? Must be a detractor meme dood.

Double edged sword

Meaning:
Something has a positive but also a negative side. It has a benefit, but also a drawback. As if the sword hits correctly but you could also hit yourself.

DSP's version:

When something has 2 drawbacks or
when he has to clear 2 obstacles.

🙄

He pronounced the insects Cicadas as in Chicadas with the "ch" sound.

Come on Phil, you've lived on the east coast your entire life and you would have had seasons with Cicadas being pretty prominent in that area of North America, how could not have heard it being pronounced at least a couple of times in your entire life?
