I've been in europe during the world cup, they might claim they love it but it's just like the US and baseball. Everyone knows its boring as hell, so they all drink themselves into a stupor and loudly argue.

A defeat for their rainy island, a France vs England final would have been so good for my aesthetic. Ah, well. I'll continue cheering on France.

That said, as much as it pains me Croatia earned this victory and their victory over Russia. Congratulations again, discount Slavs.

What's the term for gloating on behalf of third parties to mask the saltiness at not having qualified to begin with? Saltshielding, maybe, and BBC's Have Your Say is awash with it.

Jamie Vardy playing in the World Cup final would have been amazing, considering only about 6 years ago he was playing non-league football. Semi-final is still great though.

USA have a friendly against England at Wembley in November, should be a good test for us.
