Another reason is we Americans don't have proper training camps dedicated to the craft to foster actual talent for it. It's just BS like MLS. Anything England (at the very least) does >>>>> Anything US-related in the craft, and THAT's truth.

I would not look to what England does. England is US of European football. It is same problems as US, where league cares about money and not talent development.

This.

The commentators on the BBC seemed to have a wide-on for so-called "beautiful" football, seeing stuff with lots of passes and tiki-taka to be somehow morally superior to getting shit done and I felt there was an undercurrent of scorn at the Danes for parking the bus as they did in the latter stages of the game, even though it was the tactically best thing to do at that time and in the context of the game.

Sometimes... You gotta play smarter than tiki-taka. As in not at all. However, try fucking telling that to these twats, though.

Who should I and/or would you look to, then??? Being honest here.

Thoughts so far on Germany? I feel like they're taking too many risks by moving their defense into midfield.

Tiki taka works. If it wasn't for two fouls, tiki taka would've obliterated the Portuguese.

I honestly can't remember the last time the Germans played so poorly. Fucking seething right now, not gonna lie. Did it also seem to anyone else they kept slipping a lot and losing the ball?

Yeah that was a pretty atrocious game by Germany. At least their next two games are easier. (On paper, anyhow.)

What is a "proper training camp" exactly? MLS clubs have youth academies. We have young guys from them currently in the youth systems of Werder Bremen, Manchester United, PSG, Benfica, Schalke 04 etc.

The Germans do this every year. They do the bare minimum in the group stages, then they bulldoze teams in the knockouts.

I dunno, man. I'm still hopeful they'll get through, but it would've been much more secure if they'd at least gotten a tie.
As a side note, saw some German on /sp/ say they're currently worse than the Dutch team and I thank god I'm just salty and not so fucking delusional.

Can someone please explain why blatant diving is acceptable in this sport? I feel like it would be very easy to implement anti-diving rules and take care of this problem. It happens like every 5 minutes, it really diminishes my ability to enjoy watching this game.

Johnny Foreigner is a fucking cheat.

Brazil-Switzerland ended 1-1, my Brazilian friend can now be salty with me.

Tomorrow's games:
Sweden-South-Korea
Belgium-Panama
Tunisia-England

Sweden will probably win, but it'll be interesting to see how strong they are otherwise. The German team is going to have to keep an even closer eye on this match. Belgium-Panama seems fairly obvious, the former is a tad bit overrated, but they're still a solid team. Last match will be fun - will England actually stop being shit and beat a team they should in all good honesty be better than, or will they continue the good old INGERLAND tradition of being shit?

I'll be honest, there isn't a good answer to that. Everyone hates diving, but it's not always so obvious to the ref they're actually faking (despite the youtube compilations). I suppose VAR should work better at fixing this, but we'll see. There's also the somewhat conspiracy theory/fact that FIFA probably doesn't care since it creates drama and drama means publicity.

Who should I and/or would you look to, then??? Being honest here.

Iceland spent many years and lots of money creating their football leagues from scratch. The results were obvious during the Euro-Cup when they knock out England.

Similarly, Germany had many problems and they redo their entire system from ground up with heavy investment. England is very similar to US. For example, US fires Klinsman. His replacement is retread Bruce Arenas who biggest claim is to be repeatedly fired by US for failing to have success. In England, the association requires national coach to be British. Never mind that there are no successful British coaches in EPL or that no other nation has this requirement.

The simple truth is that each EPL team carries the bare minimum number of British players required because the league system is so poor at developing talent. Germany was the same way about 10 years ago. They addressed it. England and the US do not.

Not everything you think is a dive is always a dive, it's easy to fall over or be tripped up. Also, the idea is to get a free kick or get the player fouling you booked etc.
