Wasn't Fabio Capella the coach in 2010? I'm pretty sure he's Italian.
Plus Sven before that.

You're correct. And Sven-Göran Eriksson, a Swede, was their first foreign coach for the 2002 and 2006 WCs. England doesn't have any sort of requirement for the coach to be of British stock, but I've read that the reaction of the media and public and maybe the FA themselves suggests they have a certain bias towards anyone outside of the Isles. I've sometimes wondered if they think a foreign coach means they're more akin to 2nd tier and lower teams who more often than not will have the coach be of a different nationality. Or if it's just stubbornness. Or they look at the fact that no coach who has been of a different nationality than the team he's heading has ever won the World Cup and think that means something. Certainly doesn't mean they need to experiment outside their country, but still, they make it sound worse than it actually is.Wasn't Fabio Capella the coach in 2010? I'm pretty sure he's Italian.
England will probably beat Panama, but yeah Belgium not so much. You guys in England should cherish Harry Kane, for he's basically the only person that's keeping you afloat rn.And England win with a goal in injury time, 2-1.
I can't help but feel that they sagged in the second half but the teamwork was so much better. Compare and contrast Germany vs. Mexico, where the Germans with a team full of great players failed because they just didn't gel properly as a team. Now for Panama next Sunday, which they must win if they're to have any chance because they'll not beat Belgium.
Colombia will probably win Group H, with Japan second. I don't know much about the Polish team, only that if they managed to pass through UEFA Qualifiers they can't be terrible.Another day done. Tomorrow's games:
Colombia-Japan
Poland-Senegal
and we go back to group A with
Russia-Egypt
Colombia obviously stronger than Japan, so not expecting too much of an upset there. Though who knows with this cup, it's been full of suprises. Poland-Senegal should be a tight match, the latter has a few very strong players and Lewandowski is hit or miss. Russia showed great form in their opening game but we'll see if they can keep that up. Egypt also 100% needs to start Salah, they are lacking without him.
Sweden 1 - 0 Korea
Glad the better team won. Plus, alongside Belgium, this is one team I'd love to see get far in this bad boy. As a match, it was nothing special, However.
I feel like predictions are useless at this point, the amount of upsets has been ridiculous. But still.
The point of making predictions imo is for fun, as a purely speculative exercise. There are always some sort of upsets in the World Cup (I for one wasn't expecting Brazil- Germany in 2014 to be so one sided), but right now I feel the teams have played as well as they should have.
