World of Warcraft

when a hardcore player thinks he can fuck with others, he gets killed by a goblin rogue. Playing on turtle-wow is fun. Hmu if you wanna join.

I play on a laptop and had no issues with them. I find flying is like paragliding in old 90s games.

The heirloom is actually worth getting. It's also a quick way to level alts. Other than that it's been rather meh.
This expansion and the last two are what you get when you hire based on Twitter pronouns instead of resumes and only listen to less than 1% of the player base. It's no wonder why ESO and FF14 are doing better than it.
The heirloom is nice and I managed to complete all 4 sets at least. I may try evoker again or restore the one I made and try again.

I really miss the days of bc/wrath where I felt like I was part of something. This time it’s like why are the elements cranky? Did someone wake Ragnaros early again? Hydraxian waterlords mad that they’re still forgotten?

But that would have meant some creativity had to be present.

I'm far too excited to just instead of leveling pop on and get my new battle pet family familar achievement...

Still pissed they lied about adding in common/grey transmog.

Their "parents" were "released from jail". Think of them as some rednecks getting released and the family is going at it.

My arena partner and I were doing some practice arenas for fun on our alts and right around 1800 we began running into nothing but evoker healers and demon hunter comps. The evokers began giving us some really, unusual trouble, and when the 310+ geared teams started rolling in they eventually became almost entirely unbeatable. To be fair to us we were both a little under-geared, but still. I began to get very curious and I was in a call with my partner talking about this class and our issues with the evokers so I decided to log into my own to discuss the spells and talents with him.

- 1.5 min cooldown that lasts for 12 seconds: 30% damage reduction that can be (and almost always is) pvp-talented to make them immune to stuns, fears, silences, and pushback. Oh...and it can be normal-talented to have two charges. That's almost 30 seconds of complete HORSE DIARRHEA

- A pvp talent that gives them immunity to the next 3 crowd control effects when cast (lmao)

- More mobility than a fucking druid, almost completely impossible to lock down or even just slow

- Not one, not two, not three, but FOUR 2/3/4/4 minute panic buttons that keep them alive. One of them can last almost 25 seconds.

Then we decided to test it out. My buddy was on his DK alt, 304 ilvl. My Evoker, a brand new 60 with 252 ilvl. Keeping away from him was almost more easy than just standing still. Almost. He couldn't catch me and when he did, I literally just pressed random action bar buttons and was able to keep myself alive. I spent the next several hours dueling a bunch of randoms outside org as a P evoker and was able to replicate this phenomenon.

I don't see how even a nerf is going to do much to make this class any less EASY to pilot. It's literally a resto demon hunter and we all already knew DH was a free 2k faceroll class. Blizz has finally created the perfect comp for the Legitimately Retarded. You can literally win by pressing random buttons and basically just forget all about crowd control because you'll eventually hit a button that totally negates it. A fucking pet animal set on the keyboard could play this comp.

I play assassination rogue and devastation evokers are easily destroyed by me and potentially a lot of other people minus their deep breath would does crazy high damage but has a longer cooldown. Preservation on the other hand is borderline impossible to kill and braindead to play and I'm guaranteeing you that DH and Evoker class is not just going to be the noob combo going forward, but I wouldn't be shocked if blizzard outright banned them from competitive comps until they can "rework" them. This spec is a mistake. It's going to break Mythic+ and Arena combined and the expansion hasn't even dropped.

everyone being able to pvp is very inclusive and the peak of equity!

Yeah completely agree and just to be clear I was only really talking about preservation evokers. We ran across many devastation evokers and some were good, some were great and did manage to use the advantages of the race/class well, but some were total garbage, which is what you'd expect. Maybe they are a little better than average for the average new player, I don't know.

It's so nice to sit and watch a streamer on my server playing the game when the boat and portal wont spawn for me. Really fucking nice blizzard proving you give them priority over your paying customers.

So I did actually manage to get into the expansion and I'm currently playing through the first zone. Here are my thoughts so far:

1. Dragon riding is actually legitimately fun and the progression system that they added that is not based solely on borrowed power is definitely a boon and it actually makes me WANT to go out and farm or find them out in the overworld.
2. I'm really liking the overworld quite a bit, very dated graphically, but stylistic I do kind of have a soft spot for it.
3. Writing has been okayish so far, nothing terrible, but nothing overly great it's just been passable.

So far, for me, the expansion has been relatively palatable. Idk if people are going to agree with me as they go through it, but I'm honestly kind of having fun.

I'm having a laugh looking at the retarded shit the freaks over at Blizzard came up with this time

Was Selistra ever referred to as a male or female at any point? Because I legitimately cannot tell. I also have the urge to find the person who voiced this character and rip out their vocal cords in a game of Minecraft because fuck me their voice is murder to the ears.

Real question:

Was this <So and so chuckles>, <so and so smiles kindly>, shit always in the game?

I honestly can't recall, as it's been forever since I've played WoW and even longer since I've remembered a meaningful quest.

It's just lazy-ass tier writing you'd expect on crap RP forums. Also "smiles kindly"? That's just weak-ass writing, period.

Also, these fucking monologues. Look, I really don't care if you want to have genderspecial shit in your game. Honestly, it could make for interesting characterization by introducing a new race or culture (think along the lines of how the aliens of the week in Star Trek had some sort of defining characteristic or whatever, but, uh, handled a bit better.)

But there are solid ways to integrate and naturally bake in this stuff. This? It literally just reads as the writer setting up a soap box, making the record skip and pulling you out of the game to hear a real world diatribe.

I don't know what the question is, but I assume it was something like 'are you just a dragon in disguise?' or something akin to that.

A better (albeit hasty/still shitty) way to phrase that response would be

"As someone who is able to explore many forms due to being a magical entity, I'm able to see and perceive the world in many different ways. Having the keen senses of a vulpera gives a perspective that I might not have while in the guise of a human. I'm the sum of my experiences, just as you are. Although I could take the form of an orc hunter, I wouldn't just be an orc hunter. Just as you aren't simply an orc hunter. You're a hero, an explorer, a defender. You have your own passions and motivations, as I'm sure you would tell me."

Or whatever. It avoids the preachy/sanctimonious tone that the original text has, offers up a bit of the fantastical (how does a vulpera perceive the world? How could we possibly know how heightened senses work and how would that factor in how a person sees themselves?) and it allows the player to consider themselves and how they fit in, rather than just being an audience a dangerhair could shriek at.

But since this is just some idpol sex fetishist bullshit we're getting PG Furry Grooming or whatever.

I left around Mists of Pandaria, and it happened very rarely up to that point. They're doing a lot more RP-speak now.

Not the worst bit of woke writing I’ve seen, but it’s disappointingly lazy. Honestly having a character who speaks in gestures and lets the player use his imagination would make for compelling writing, but no, we have to shove in a reference to… ASL.

Yeah, I wanna say that one of the Afrasiabi quests (either the Tyrion ones in EPL or the ones with Kalaran has some sort of dumb emoting, but I don't recally it being so fucking frequent.

How hard is it to hire actual, competent writers? (I know, I know, speculative fiction in general has become a fucking toilet, but there are people out there who can write to spec. You don't need to hire a fantasy author or whatever.

So something I've noticed in this expansion; the fucking voice acting is absolutely godawful. I had to mute the voice audio during the second half of the main quest. They hired some of the shriekiest nails on chalkboard voices to play these characters and I eventually said "fuck this" and turned the voice audio down to 0%.
