Worst Disney live-action remake thread - It deserves its own thread

No way she can chew scenery as well as Glenn Close.

I haven't seen any of the live action remakes all the way through. Tried watching Jungle Book, but the animated one already bored me, and the live action one seemed even slower. Couldn't make it past the first song in the Beauty and the Beast one. I just haven't been interested, so I haven't bothered to see them.
What impresses me more about those movies is how Glenn did her own stunts. That's dedication, especially in a time where most stunts weren't done by the lead actor (unless they were a trained stuntperson)

Back on topic, this new wave of remakes is pretty much in the forgettable-godawful range of Disney's output. Lion King is probably the worst so far since it's not even live action, just photoreal CGI for 90 minutes redoing a film that looked and sounded so much better in 2D. And no amount of Elton John or James Earl Jones returning will change that.

Anyone think the coronavirus break will hurt Mulan's chance in China? We know the box office from these films mostly comes from China.
Yes, especially since Disney lost out on a big chunk of the Chinese box office with the original because China spited them with a lousy release date (Disney funded a biography about the Dalai Lama, which the Chinese government disapproved of). And the Chinese had a lukewarm reception to the movie anyways since the movie deviated from the myth for storytelling reasons, which they didn't like.

So this time they sat down and worked with China to make sure it'd be properly acceptable so they could maximize those sweet, substantial Chinese box office returns. And now we have people getting their temperatures taken before being allowed in StarBucks. Yeah, no, I don't see this outbreak going away before the end of March, and people are going to stay away even with precautions in place.

Maleficent works because of Angelina. Shes very captivating. (Also lmao Aurora had no fucking personality in the original animated film so....yeah it works with Bland Fanning Sister)

Cinderella was fine too.

Worst ones? Dumbo, Lady & The Tramp (fucking ruined it by making their mouths move),

Aladdin sucked. Why is Billy Magnussen there? Why does Jasmine suddenly want to be the sultan? Why does Jafar have David Beckham syndrome?

Beauty and the Beast just.....why. The dress was the worst. How do you fuck up an iconic dress that badly?

Man, the amount of autism on this thread is just astounding. If you don't like the remakes, just watch the originals! Or neither, if you don't even like the originals!

Lesson learned. Don't don't about things you don't like.

I'm sure Walt is spinning in his grave, considering he didn't like communism and probably never thought of pandering to them because of his principles.
