I actually like the anise flavor of black licorice. What is candy corn supposed to taste like? It's like eating table sugar mixed into wax.
 
One time I won a tall and thin jar of candy corn. I ended up dumping the candy corn and using the jar for spaghetti.

I kinda like them both actually, but candy corn is something you only eat once a year, on Halloween and you can only eat a few pieces because it's literally just sugar. It used to be made with honey or something, I think, but if you eat more than like a handful, it starts to taste like chalk and sugar and whatever corn syrup and other crap they use to hold it together.

I legitimately like black licorice, there's a sort of earthy, anise and molasses flavor that I like because it's not too sweet. The spice reminds me of chai tea in a way.
 
Black licorice may actually rob the heart of potassium despite being used in traditional chinese medicine.

Candy corn can come in different flavors, I had raspberry lemonade ones that were awesome.

You know what pissed me off as a kid though? That one house that gave these fuckers:

they're staple halloween candies. sure, there's others, but the two are most common around this part of the year
