There's sometimes that one mom with way too much money and concern for children's health who gives out apples at Halloween. One time some gave me a little cup of raspberries for Halloween and that was great, but giving out apples and bananas and other shit-tier fruits that are everywhere is dumb.

Apples are the ones with razor blades put in them by psychos, though. Your mom never let you eat them without cutting them up first.

Did anyone else ever get pretzels or those mini chip bags for Halloween? (Not that I'm complaining about those, those were the shit)
Also I feel like I'm the only person here who never got fruit or raisins while trick-or-treating :( I never got the True and Honest trick-or-treating experience where you'd have that one PTA soccer mom trying to provide "healthy" alternatives.

I got a baggie of chocolate covered raisins in a ziploc baggie once. I didn't realize that's what they were until I checked my candy later. At first I thought she gave me a bag of coffee beans.
Also if you don't like Bit-O-Honey, the peanut butter chewies, or Tootsie Rolls (fruity or otherwise) I will be more than happy to eat them all for you.

Ya know, speaking of Smarties (U.S.)/Rockets (Canada), when I was a kid, I do remember sometimes getting candy rolls that were pretty freaking good, like it was the same format as Smarties/Rockets, but the colours were more vivid and the fruit flavour a lot more intense. I have no idea what the brand was, it could have even been a store brand for all I know (possibly even from a defunct supermarket chain like Steinberg).

Store brand candy often gets a bad rap, it can quite often be as good or better as the name-brand confectioners.

I'll only say licorice because I've never had candy corn and it's probably a lot better than that shit. Seriously licorice is disgusting.

Only thing worse than that is if some clever fucker decides to give you aniseed candy.

Was it Spree?

Yeah, I got pretzel bags a couple times. Also mini muffins once. I usually saved those for school lunches.

Never liked Twizzlers, Necco Wafers, or Smarties as a kid, and fuck Raisinets. Dad loves Raisinets, though, so more power to him.

No, I think they were unbranded, in clear wrappers the same size and format as Smarties/Rockets with the same kind of uncoated chalky texture, which is why I'm mostly assuming they were store-brand candy, but pretty good store-brand candy.

I've never had Spree so far as I remember but those look like they have outer candy coating very similar to SweeTARTS Shockers (formerly Shock Tarts).

I'm pretty sure I never got an apple or other fruit when I went Trick or Treating back in the day. Chocolate covered raisins were as close as it ever got. But the ship bags were probably one of the most common things I got in my hauls.

As for least favorite? Fuck Rockets/Smarties/Whatever the fuck they want to be called. Those were always the low point of my nights.

Small bag of Cheetos, yeah. The same year I also got a can of Coke. The woman felt bad she only had one last candy to give to me, so she just pulled it out of the fridge. It was weird, but definitely not a bad thing to receive.

Candy corn is okay, its the Mellowcreme pumpkins that are the best. those things are amazing.

For worst I'd really say lemon drops. just never been a big fan.
