Worst philosophical arguments you've seen

Pretty much anything that comes from a Caucasian perspective. White people have enslaved all of the peoples of the Earth at one point or another for thousands of years at this point. They are morally bankrupt and have no other philosophy besides raping whatever culture they encounter. Nothing white people have to say has any merit because it is all built on the backs of people the perceive to be their lesser.

Mine would probably be similar to Mauler's mindset except I particularly despise people that like to just hammer away at other people's ideas or works ad nauseam and/or claim such and such is (insert judgment here) only to then either at the end of their dumbass diatribe or after their dumbass diatribe in a separate occassion when challenged by others to say : "Well that's my opinion", or far worse "Everything is relative" without thinking for a moment that saying either pretty much annihilates the argument (assuming they actually had an argument to make) pointless. It's as if they think they can use nihilism to their advantage by destroying other peoples arguments and thoughts but no one can point out that the sword swings both ways. It is completely insufferable.

You see this constantly from people on the Left, some libertarians, and obnoxious pos attention seeking pseudo-intellectuals who will in one breath bitch and moan how so and so is racist, sexist, xenophobic, homophobic, and bigoted or how some work of fiction is good (like say the LTJ) while others are simply bad even though they have no fundamental principle behind anything they say, and, if they did, they remove it by saying stupid stuff like the above "catch-phrases" of their.

Anyone who uses ontological arguments for the existence of god. A lot of high profile logicians and philosophers have claimed to believe the ontological argument, and it is the stupidest shit.

In short, the ontological argument goes like this:
1: It is the definition of god that he is the absolute best, like absolute perfection in all things.
2: God provably exists at least as an idea: We can talk about god and think about him, so he provably exists as an idea in our head, if not in the real world.
3: Being real is better than being an idea.
4: Thus god is real, because if he existed as only an idea, he wouldn't be the absolute best, so he must be real.

Note that this argument also proves the existence of superman, and the perfect blowjob.

  • Atheists that take biblical verses out of context to “own” Christians. One popular example is using Leviticus to judge modern Christianity. They forget that Christians believe in following the higher law in the New Testament. Also, you would be hard pressed to find a few Jewish people still living the laws of Leviticus.
  • “It’s natural so it must be good”. Forest fires are natural, diseases are natural and harmful bacteria are natural. This isn’t to say that some natural things are better, but to claim that since something is natural and is therefor good is an oversight.
  • “The right side of history”. It’s just a lazy way of saying that what you are doing is right and people against you are clearly “behind the times”. This phrase is very ahistorical as well, since it assumes that there are designated “good” guys and “bad” guys. It’s also an absolutist term and assumes people will view you as “good” long after you’re dead.
  • [CURRENT YEAR] is a meme and a lazy argument. The only time this may be applicable is when you are discussing new technologies. If you use it as a moral argument, it assumes that history always has a linear progression (which it doesn’t).

This is just antinatalism in a nutshell. It makes no sense though. How can you enjoy the good if bad things never happen? Bad things can help you grow as a person. Not getting the job you want, getting a bad grade, getting sick and getting rejected are bad things, but they can build character. Someone can’t appreciate their health if they have never been sick. If you don’t want to experience hardship, dying is a better option. Sadly, this philosophy just leads to a lot of suicide.
