Sonichu Worst Sonichu Pages

Any time C.C.-Sonichu throws a punch at someone. The way he renders the impact, it looks like he's simply mashing a large orange fruit in the victim's face. A good beating should have a kinetic flow; they just look boring, stiff, and wooden.

Okay... I think I see what he was going for here. Chris was trying to show Sailor Megtune from an unusual angle, with the "camera" looking up at her from the floor--perhaps even emulating a shot from Saillor Moon--but without proper shadow and perspective, she looks like she has some weird acromegaly in her lower body. The torso should taper in as it goes up to her breasts and shoulders.. Her head looks like a tiny misshaped gob stuck on a boxy body. The arms are stiff. The hair doesn't flow, it resembles a sheaf of straw.

I don't even know what "Defy your gravity" is supposed to mean. It doesn't make any sense to me. Then again, I say that about a lot of Chris' work.

As for me, I think this image of GodJesus telling Chris that Ivy is his sweetheart is the worst, just because I can't make any sense of who says what and when at all. It's almost infuriating. (I don't know if it's already been posted, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was.)
I kinda figured "Defy your gravity" was supposed to be a reference to the song "Defying Gravity" from the musical Wicked, but Chris never really struck me as someone who was into musical theatre. I don't know, maybe Chris heard about it somehow, decided musical theatre was a "feminine" interest and that's why Rosechu is saying it.

And for the GodJesus thing, I just see it as another example of Chris's bloated sense of entitlement because he believes some higher power told him this or that. The fact that he draws God and Jesus praising him just brings the point home.

He has a slight affinity for musicals. Hence, why Mary Poppins is his favorite movie. And in Jackie e-mails 25, he went his youth group to go see Grease.

And yeah, the implications of Chris embracing the ultimate Broadway girl power anthem probably went over his head.

As well as the implications of Chris embracing one of the most stereotypically gay things ever.

The anatomy of electric hedgehog pokemon. I don't know which is more disturbing; Chris thinking that shit was appropriate to show to kids, or that he took the time to explain why Sonichu's Johnson isn't visible 24/7.

I think that was supposed to be Graduon looking out a window, despite the fact that he was supposedly sealed away by the Cherokians and the Wasabis at the time. So either way, this page contains a large amount of fail.
I eventually realized it's a window viewed from the inside, but it took me a really long while. Chris, the master of backgrounds.
He didn't even bother at least drawing any lines to show that it's a wall.

You'll live if you can limp to the hospital.

Jesus, you think Liquid even survived this encounter in-comic?

Oh gosh, the clothes in the hamper look like raw meat.
Is that blood on Rosie's hands in panel 5?

You know what's a big contributing factor in Chris' shitty artwork? He can't hold a pen/pencil/crayon/marker the right way.

I just picked up my pen and kinda tried to mimic that grip. There is absolutely no ability to manipulate the pen in fine movements, you basically drag it around with your arm and swivel your wrist. I bet if he could hold it right, his art might not suck so much rotten skunk ape ass.

Defying Gravity charted in the US around the time Chris did that issue (2008). He probably heard it somewhere and it stuck in his head long enough for what he thought was a clever line.

I actually used to hold stuff like that when I was a kid (four or five), but got it corrected in school pretty quickly. I'm more impressed at how good his handwriting looks considering that shitty grip. Mine was all over the place. Though to be fair I was five and had undiagnosed near-legal blindness for the next five years.

I have no idea how i began holding pencils. As early as i can remember, i had a proper technique. I am a decent artist, but my handwriting is shit. Its clearly identifiable as adult, though. Chris looks like a third grader with extremely poor penmanship.

I don't hold a pencil the right way and my handwriting hasn't changed since kindergarten haha

But on the other hand I'm a better sketch artist than Chris

I can't draw necks, so that's one thing he has on me.
