Worst Video Game Modding Communities

Allthefallen? We have a thread about them.
i do remember a 4chan general post mentioning how you could find a killable children patch compatible with CBBE in that honeypot.
yeah, sure, "killable".
Unfortunately it's also common to find yourself there if you want mods related to execution or slavery.
depends on the game, i've seen the effort from people trying to coom mod barotrauma, fucking laughed my ass off reading it.
Mount and Blade - Duplicitious, low IQ high ego, back stabbing retards. It's actually gotten so bad that the Bannerlord modding scene has almsot ground to a halt, not just because Taleworlds gave up on thje game for a whole year, but because the modders were all threatening each other with gay lolsuits over them 'stealing' each others ideas.
dude, good shit, i had read about the modding retardation that was M&B, one of the least retarded modding scenes might be the rimworld one and elin because it's new.
i think one of the sites that weren't affected as much by faggotry was moddb even though you can find a stray faggot trying "did you ask for permission" bullshit in there every blue moon or so, gamebanana fell to trannydom though.

I'd rate Starsector's as the worst. With Minecraft I have to put up with a tranny flag here and there and once upon a time modders made their mods mutually incompatible during launch, but with Starsector the current known low point is intentional surreptitious save corruption, and I wouldn't put it past some petty modder to eventually include proper malware. It was thanks to Starsector that I started running all my moddable indie games under a separate low-trust user so that no petty cunt can scrape my browser data or similar.

Is LoversLab really the worst? I know they're a bunch of degenerate coomers but can their mod team really be more cucked than Nexus?
Loverslab does have a few mods that were either pulled by their authors or because of Nexus. I found a Trump mod for Fallout 4 on there that was nuked from Nexus. They are coomer creeps, but they aren't cucks.

I know this thread is for complaining about userbases but one of my biggest pet peeves are modding communities that keep all their documentation and tools on Discord. With all their faggy little google docs and outdated FAQ channels. If you want to learn how to mod, or even just more about the inner workings of whatever game you're interested in, you're pigeonholed into yet another community bloating the list of other communities you're already in.

Have a question that's not in the FAQ? Okay, let's message search first. Oh, everyone who asked the question already got ignored or lambasted by assholes who're tired of answering the question? Sucks! If only there was a way to put all of your information in a clear place so people don't have to come to you for it..

And that's not to mention when servers move, break their invite links, or become subjected to all kinds of Discord troonery that causes data loss. You're shit out of luck then. The lack of archiving really nails in the fact that nowadays people don't care if their hobbies die.

Discord has a lot of good features, but it has absolutely ruined the modding scene, among other things...

Can we factor a games community into the modding scene aswell? Since one technically wouldn't exist without the other.

If so, the first one that springs to mind is Friday Night Funkin'. Considering the fact that there's some kind of scandle every other week about some dumbass fetish shit or just actual grooming and pedophilia. However I'm not sure it particularly counts since most of that stuff is kept more to the community, and doesn't really seep it's way into mods all too much, well, if you don't count the constant cancellations. I wouldn't say it's the worst one out there, since I think there's some genuinely fantastic fan made content out there, but it's the one that springs to mind first.

I guess NexusLabs counts too due to their constant censorship over completely harmless mods, like that one Marvel Rivals mod that replaced Captain America with Trump. I'm sorry but how can you look at such an obviously silly and goofy mod made for fun and genuinely take it down out of some perceived slight? Like okay sure I guess you could make an argument for the mod for Spiderman that replaced all of the pride flags with the American flag because of Homophobia or whatever. But who gives a shit? It's a mod, it's equally likely that the modder just wanted the game to be more immersive since it doesn't really make sense for pride flags to be all over the shop in a fucking Spiderman game, the American flags make much more sense considering it's fucking New York city.

I should mention The Long Drive's modscene. It's freaking tiny and centered entirely around their discord BUT:
The discord's original head admin was a 17 year old pooner.
Who was then replaced with a older tranny named "Jessica".
Who was then replaced with just some random dude.

Why does this matter? The only way to 'officially' mod the game is with their own third party jankass program they call "TLDWorkshop". The only way to get your mod added to it is to stay in these tranny's good graces, which is extremely hard to do because the most active channel in that server is the public moderation channel where they show the public bans (there's even more bans that they don't show on there). The most popular bans are for piracy (idiots admitting they have a pirated game) and for having things in your profile they disprove of. I only look in there now to see how many bans a day they do, which is a lot.

If they don't like you and ban you, which is stupidly easy to do, your mod gets yanked and memoryholed. There was some weird foreign guy whose name I can't remember who was a massive asshole and I would argue with constantly but he was a goddamn wizard with modding that jankass abandoned game and made an editor where you could easily change any variable on a vehicle including manipulating the amount of gears, gear ratios, engine power, torque, suspension, etc. Want a 10spd 400hp Trabant monster truck? Pop off, king. He got booted and was totally memoryholed, can't find that shit anywhere now.

So instead of just tying the unity jank into steam workshop so anyone could upload whatever they wanted they have this super controlled walled garden thing that most people playing never even knows existed. Not that it matters much since it's been abandoned and the last beta update, which makes the game basically unplayable, was in November.

Now I simp hard for Drive By Horizons. Similar game in UE5 made by the french. No workshop yet but will be normal steam workshop eventually. Also their discord is way more chill.

There's also a guy in DBH discord who claims one of the TLD devs (it was a group of brothers) was cyberstalking his wife because he wanted to add her pictures to her game (there are a lot of random pictures of random women sprinkled around already) and she declined.

Doki Doki Literature Club's modding community. Their mod authors tend to either be pedos or unhinged psychos.

It sounds like every sizable modding community is the worst one. I'm glad I only download mods and don't take part in any of the nonsensical interpersonal bullshit.
That's all well and good until some retard decides to take down their mod over drama only ten other people even know about. It happened a few years ago now so I can't quite remember the details but it was either New Vegas, Skyrim or Fallout 4 where some modder chucked a tissy over some fucking nonsense and hid their mod that a shitload of others relied upon to even function (iirc it was a script extender plugin).

I always have to go with the Sims Modding Community. Not only are they uniformly fag hags or cat moms they have the lowest competence/time spent ratio of any large modding community. Every Sims client is well known for being an absolute shit show but the community can't even adequately patch them much less create a new less broken client. With all the problems Bethesda Fans have they at least manage to successfully release huge projects like Daggerfall Unity or OpenMW, the fags modding Sims 3 still haven't managed a GOOD solution to the late night slowdown that happens every single day on old and/or modded saves.

Sims 4 modders have put actual malware into their mods before.

Sims 3 is in dire need of a Pescado type figure. Dude released so many bugfixes for Sims 2 back in the day. Maybe LazyDuchess could get in on it since she made the optimisation patch that isn't perfect but helps a lot with making Sims 3 not run like complete shit.

that would require duchess to have balls to call retards for what they are, something she doesn't have.
also pescado is kind of sitting still in his forum trying to understand sims2 corruption, his awesomemod for sims3 was, well, awesome but it doesn't work well with modern nraas even if you tweak the fuck out of it like you could before (i know because i used both), now it crashes.

The rule of mod communities: The more fags and trannies, the worse it is.

Friday Night Funkin’ as a game is cursed: the official game (although high-quality) gets updated at an agonizingly slow pace, while the mods are all made by useless shitstains.
Modfags somehow manage to take years for average mods in most cases, and a staggering number do nothing but autistically obsess over content farm-tier horror OCs made by “people” with somalian-tier IQ. So many people are retarded enough to like Sonic.Exe, the fanfic by an actual mentally disabled lolcow pedophile.
Finding half-decent mods is equivalent to digging through human shit in order to find nuggets of gold. Very few genuinely good mods have been made in the last year alone.
For a game built around easy modding, it sure ruins the point where the only people who try to mod it are completely useless faggots. The sharty calls people “FNFpedos” for a very good reason

Apparently there's a huge overlap between Second Life and Sims modding in way of stealing/flipping assets, and there's thousands if not hundreds of thousands of dollars being swapped between paygated patreons and mods. Wicked Whims notoriously making what, high-end 5 digits a month?

Throw in the fact it's primarily women who by nature hate and envy each other in equal measures and it's a severely pozzed community. 5 seconds on any sims subreddit and you'll see the ugliest mf'er imaginable with the comments split down the middle between "Omg so unique" and "this shit ain't human"

Please elaborate?

Thread tax: I still cannot for the life of me fathom what drove the Fallout: The Frontier dev team to such depths of degeneracy, insanity and stupidity. There was no sane reason for things to go as badly as they did.

The author, JC-the-hyena, is a mentally impaired furfag pedophile. It’s sure interesting how often you see those traits together!
The mentally impaired part holds credence, as he wrote sonic.exe as a grown adult.
Almost all the fans of that shit are conviniently unaware of his pedofag antics (despite being incredibly against anything else made by someone who did something they don’t like), and still flood the community with sonic.exe-related garbage to this day
There’s some info on him in this thread, although it’s shorter than I expected:
