This is a really complex question and it depends when you ask it -
If you asked me this in my youth, my very angry and depressed 20's I would have said fuck yea why not make some other cunt miserable.
If you ask me now I'd answer I really fucking depends on -
1) Is this a war of conquest or defence, I'll fight like hell in the latter and fight like a bastard against the former.
2) Is this a cause I am willing to die for? There are VERY few things worth dieing for and it would have to be exceptionally important for me to even considering adding another one. Family you bet I'm willing to die defending them if it came to it, Friends I have about 3 who I would die fighting with, my land and animals sure, but there is very little else worth considering.
3) Is this a war that needs to be fought (by my own standards & Morality), If this is a war over something asinine like who said what to who 1000 years ago and we've been fighting ever since nope fuck that, If this is some tosser who's ditching radioactive waste in international waters washing up on our coast and killing people we've told them to stop and now it's time to punch them in the dick? Yea sure.
4) What's happened to get us to this point? I'm not talking about the failed international politics I am talking about the internal political and military decisions that have lead to conscription becoming a thing that has historically been the exception and not the rule in the UK. If they are starting to canablise the middle age skilled population things have gone wrong on a scale that would have been unheard of before and that needs addressing. If it was a surprise attack on the army and it wiped most of them out and this was an emergency method yea sure I can see that being a legitimate reason, If it was because they lost 3 battalions defending ground owned by billionaires for no other reason than they are rich, nha fuck that.
