I used to poke Wrong Planet years and years ago. It was actually decent then, and even helped me a bit with unlearning some pretty fucked up shit I'd been raised to believe about myself. Havent touched it since there was some scandle about one of the heads up rubbing butts with Autism Speaks though (I think it was something like AS was paying them to try and shut down people shit talking them or something, I can't really remember. Either way it was skeezy as fuck especially since they'd previously been calling AS out on their shit like the rest of us).

Wonder how infested it is now with self-diagnosed snowflakes?

Like @wheat pasta said, I think the origin of the "wrong planet" name is that having an ASD supposedly makes one feel like an "alien dumped on the wrong planet" or something like that.

To elaborate, its like being an alien dumped on another planet, the inhabitants of which have a completely different way of communicating and having no guide to understand it. Its actually a decent analogy IMHO, especially for non verbal autistics.

Too bad Wrong Planet sucks and kind of ruined it.

If you are saying that Kiwis laugh at someone's ill-advised behavior, I can see where you're going with this. If one likes to laugh at people just because they are not neurotypical, that's wrong, to say the least.

I post on a few threads here, but only to point out something uncanny. I would not make fun of someone solely because they have an autism-spectrum disorder. I would, however, remark on something if one's caustic personality or unsettling content warrant that. Even then, my comments are nothing beyond "he's going on about his hatred for Barbire again" or "even for CGI on Windows ME, this is terrible!"

Yes, people like Chris and the dozens of lolcows discussed here give autism spectrum disorders a bad name. Their onlone antics are hurting the cause, though it is not okay to call them homophobic slurs.

There are many people on the autisn spectrum who lead successful lives, knowing better than to make a mockery of themselves on the Internet. The subjects of the Kiwo Farms, sadly, aren't such people.

I actually think that while many lolcows have autism, it isn't the autism which is their problem, but an overall dysfunctional outlook on life. The vast majority of autistic people probably do not go around macing Game Stop employees over a cartoon animal's arm color. If Chris wasn't autistic he might be somewhat better adjusted but probably still within lolcow area.

Oh god, this place. I had an account there either in or right after high school because my therapist recommended I join. I think I made something like three posts before the autism master race thing really sunk in.

I was not prepared for that level of 'tism and bailed pretty much immediately. I'm poking through the WP forum now and I still feel like I made the right decision.

Ok, after talking to a mod about this, I have a confession to make. I will only post this then I have to get to bed soon so this post will probably be short but here goes:

I am the one named Weather and have made a recent post there on WP about the Kiwi Farms, but I was feeling very supportive of Connor at the time and was feeling some sort of frustration about the forums' treatment of him. That is before I read more of Connor. A couple of my posts have been screencapped in this thread.

My intentions are not to cross WP and the Kiwi Farms and try to cause any trouble as even though I stated what I did on WP, there are people here that I find respectable and honestly some lolcows I do find...intriguing though I do find that some people go too far with certain people and their disabilities.

Honestly, I don't use WP that much anymore as it is no longer interesting to me. I very rarely post on there despite being on there since 2009.

I know I am going to get a lot of flack for this and I know I am risking myself and opening myself up for ridicule, so here it goes.

Also, perhaps I should just apologize.
