Infected Wrong Planet

I'm trying to process Taylor Swift. She was good at music and in her, for lack of a better term, PR background she says she only had a few friends? That's called smart marketing considering her image is your BFF/just an average girl persona. Lets say it is true, that's just called being a teenager. Of course she felt like a loner and ostracized, we all did. Homie really should pump the brakes on the whole "Everyone cool has autsim" gimmick.

I've heard of that site before but never really bothered to go deeper besides probably reading a few posts from it. Going through some of the links posted here, I can fully understand why.

A lot of the posters are way over their heads with this shit and a lot of the posts and topics there are so fucking laughable. It feels like a big circlejerk.

I know I shouldn't be surprised there is enough material to do a Part 2 of "Who Might Be Autistic". Today it's video game edition!

And one huge thread I'm not going to bother wasting your bandwidth with. Here are some highlights!

[Elder Scrolls sperg]
To be fair to the Wrong Planeteers, it sounds like they may be onto something about Ja-Reet. Elder Scrolls Online is a much more recent game, so it wouldn't surprise me that, as the general public learns more about subjects like ASD, Bethesda/Zenimax incorporate those subjects into the Elder Scrolls universe as a way to further engage players. They did it with the Dragonborn expansion pack for Skyrim and added their first canon gay NPC couple. (Who had been brutally murdered long before you discover them, but hey, baby steps.)

During my freshman year of high school, my school board reassigned me to the closet school in my neighborhood, which was in the ghetto, and it's special needs program was poor, so I went on Wrong Planet for support and advice, and like Jewelsmakerguy said, its was too spergy for my tastes.
So spergy, in fact, that you began posting in 2006 and
were still posting there a little over a month ago. :)

Thanks for bumping a 6 month old thread to tell us this.

Hey man, don't drag my name in the mud.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that. While I did regularly post of sites like Wrong Planet during my teenage years, I've been going on them a lot less often because of how militant some of the members can be, appreciation threads towards popular members (those were common from around 2005 to 2008), and the sperginess in general of those sites. Plus, I felt like I was never fully accepted by the special needs community.

Never try to dig yourself out of a hole like this: you'll typically dig yourself deeper into it. And two:

Isn't that what we do?
Also please people, stop posting about how you used to go there and it sucks, posts some content instead ya'll.

This goes a long way to unfucking your current position. Not because trollshielding works, but because at least you'll use your time there to derive amusement rather than talk about yourself when by all means most of us don't care outside of the "I wonder how goddamned crazy he was on the board? Maybe I should check." mindset.

Yeah, I learned that lesson the hard way. Oh, BTW:

Oh, well then that's goo-

I did complain to the school board about that, they allowed me to transfer to a much better school the following year, and I did fairly well from there.

Seriously, this thread isn't about you yourself or your life. You don't see me for instance start powering up my life story to do some DBZ stuff. I just show off or mock particularly egregious and messed up posts. I'd recommend doing one or the other using your experience with the site.

For instance a good example would be showing a post like one I saw back when Spergs for Freedom existed. One where this guy tried to spin him screeching at his sister for not understanding his Self-Diagnosed spergery. He literally exploded over a mild case of bafflement, which was "Wait what? Autistic? But you've never been diagnosed". Stories like that are pretty much the best way to unfuck yourself at this point, even though this will be remembered.

I dislike bright lighting, loud noises and in social situations I tend to be more quiet and just observe/take in information, rather than actively speak often.

Looks like this is enough to self-diagnose as a sperg, according to WP. Where do I pick up my oppression trophy and autism money? Is there some kind of rebate form I need to fill out or do I just collect UPC codes from boxes of Autism Crunch and mail them in to Tumblr? I feel so limited and everything is suddenly more difficult now that I am a True and Honest sperg :(

I was looking up bearded dragons as registered support animals because reasons and I came across a thread on WP and a chick said she has panic attacks unless she brings her bearded dragon everywhere and people were congratulating her on "finding something that worked" but really they should be telling her to slowly break away from the support of the beardie and only bring him in very stressful situations to keep her calm. How the fuck are you supposed to hold a job when you have a have a lizard on your shoulder or else you break down? Unless you work at a pet shop I can't see that being acceptable.

If someone were otherwise normal and the only oddity they had were having a lizard on their shoulder, I'd be entirely okay with that.

I could actually deal with a world where you'd go to the store and there'd be shit like owls and lizards on people's shoulders.

If she's being truthful and that really is the only thing that helps her anxiety why shouldn't she be able to take it with her? People with other disabilities have service animals.

This member exemplified everything that was wrong with Wrong Planet and neurodiversity. He thought he was a genius because he had a Master's degree in political science with a 3.7 GPA, yet was 27 and unemployed. He spent his time ranting about how women were dumb bitches that couldn't see his GPA. Because yes, this is what being a politician is all about.

Needless to say, Wrong Planet encouraged him to die alone because by their reasoning, he was too smart for anyone.
