The fact of the matter is that we still know jack shit about this virus beyond a few key details. And making an unneeded forum post to whip everyone up into a frenzy about how the disease is literally Hitler accomplishes nothing. I'm not even being optimistic--this virus terrifies me--but your posts are designed to cause fear instead of understanding.
Anything factual I could say about this virus would also be fearsome simply by the nature of those facts.
The virus has various mechanisms by which it assaults the body.
There is the autoimmune response, which appears to be mediated by the way the virus monopolizes ACE2 receptors. Normally, Ang II uses them to convert to Ang 1-7 and from there, it acts as a MasR agonist. Instead, with the virus blocking ACE2 off from Ang II, the Ang II builds up and activates AT1R. This process of excess accumulating Ang II creates a whole lot of inflammation. A good portion of the tissue damage in the lungs is autoimmune in nature, with T helpers releasing insane quantities of inflammatory cytokines.
There is the hypoxemia from the pneumonia, which insults the vital organs with low O2.
The dysregulation of the RAAS system may be causing electrolytic imbalance and hypertension on top of the inflammation.
There is also the matter of the elevated troponin and myoglobin levels. The myocarditis also attacks the kidneys with AKI due to the myoglobinemia.
It also seems to suppress and imbalance the immune system to a degree that bacterial co-infections occur, leading to sepsis.
Lastly, the virus may be passing into the brain by infecting the blood vessels of the brain or the endothelial lining of the blood-brain barrier, or, it could be rising up from the parasympathetic nerves of the lungs, into the vagus nerve, and into the medulla, or, it could even be entering the brain through the olfactory bulb and through the cribriform plate.
The sheer complexity of the pathology of bat-SARS-like coronaviruses is maddening.

I skimmed a few abstracts but read many papers in detail and cross-referenced them. I also referenced firsthand accounts from ICU doctors to see if the claims lined up with what they were seeing in their patients, as well as what I saw in leaked footage of ailing COVID-19 victims.

Jesus, I thought this was a happening subforum. Why would you complain about a happening when that's clearly what you're all here for? Besides, only 4chan, Kiwifarms, and a few other places even have COVID-19 threads that delve into the darkest parts of it, like the leaked footage from Hubei, the weird laboratories in Wuhan, et cetera. Elsewhere, the Overton Window poses a problem.
