It's almost like an IFV is designed to have a role or something, and that role isn't to bunkerbust hardpoints, but protect the crew and support them against other infantry or something, which the Bradley does amazing at.
Like yeah, they got TOWS for heavier busting and specific antitank (Warhammer) and antiair (Linebacker) variants which allow you to stack MANPADS or Stingers on them, but expecting them to do everything is retarded, since you have assault helis, A-10s, or even just some heavy gunners with a SCAR or the older SAW weapons in this single scenario you keep REEEing over. Build things with purpose, and keep them simple stupid.

How was that a goalpost shift? My point is that the Army needs an IFV with a bigger gun. The footage of the CV9040 on the range was meant to illustrate that point.
Since the Army has actually been shopping around for one, I don't see why that's even a controversial statement or needs debating at all.

The explosive charge in a 25x137mm NATO round is about the size of my thumb and punches a hole in stone walls that's hardly big enough to fit a coke can through. That's not very impressive at all. Not when your buddies are coming under sniper fire and you need those hostiles and the building they're shooting from gone, right now. If you've already blown your load and shot both TOWs, what then?
A fire support vehicle that cannot provide effective fire support because the target is too hardened is useless.

Again, fitting you're ignoring the TOWS the Bradley carries to fuck up a tank (they were able to quite casually yeet T-56s and T-72s with those), the 40mm grenades all troopers have as a secondary on their rifles, their normal rifles and basic clearing tactics, a Stinger fired dumb into the wall, a nearby heavier tank unit like an Abrams or something, the other more powerful grenades all troopers have on hand, the ability to call in a strike from a chopper or plane (a major part of US and Soviet doctrine since WW2), and every other idea I can shit out while typing just for this one golden BB scenario to pretend you have anything resembling a point.
You got wrecked on the idea of supply lines and budgets for your chubby for super ultra weapons to combat the DOOM, and goalshifted to what you think is one unarguable scenario because a Bradley isn't designed to Killdoze everything at once. ECMs basically replace the percussion cap with a sort of spark plug set up that based on testing does result in more efficient energy transfer and faster bullets by electricity cost than a rail gun or a coil gun. Problem is those guys corrode? Basically like if a sparkplug went bad on a car; it don't work now. A shitty maintained mechanical gun can still fire, if not well. A shitty maintained ECM has a good chance of just being a dud that doesn't work.

Then the question would be less about MUH BUDGET and more about weighing the cost/benefit, how much faster would the energy transfer be? Would the difference even make much difference (more bang bang shooty = less boom boom from opponents??).
If your analogy of a sparkplug is correct, then a near infinite efficiency but an unknown percentage of 'better' that hasn't even been defined by the retard (which I doubt matters much in speed brap braps in an infantry fight) is far better than what amounts to something that's going to be designed to have easily replaceable parts to alleviate such glaring faults.
Then immediately after that part, you'd have to weigh needing to replace everything we have with the new... plugs?
That's like two hurdles and our autistic retard doesn't look acrobatic enough to jog leisurely much less jump over a hurdle.

I suppose mothballing them if you're not gonna have a use for them in a future conflict would be pointless, wouldn't it? They are, admittedly, a very specialized type of vehicle for low-intensity conflict.
It just seems so wasteful to buy so many and then take two-thirds of them and sell 'em surplus for pennies on the dollar or have 'em cut up for scrap.
