Tests have so far failed to rule out coronavirus. The patients - who are in isolation - are being treated at Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
I'm going to refrain from posting any more happenings, because I really hope this is a nothingburger and I'm just a scared child. Either way, it's unhealthy. Hope to God it'll fizzle out soon and condolences to the deceased.
“Looking at google maps one of the farthest cities away is roughly 200 miles away so the radius with Wuhan in the center would probably mean a lot more cities are going to go on lockdown as well as represented by the circle with Wuhan as the center. https://t.co/s4x1koSo5E”

Everything in Red
They apparently have canceled Lunar New Year celebrations in Beijing
In a perfect world china would get economic sanctions for being incompetent at managing this situation if it does go south. won't happen though due to how much companies need china to make profits from imports and exports.
If they are lying about it there is a possibility the area I am in is already getting infected, especially considering how many airports are connected to this fucking city; Almost 2 weeks to incubate is bad news.
Looking at the WHO website (why read news reports when you can get an idea of what the WHO is thinking), they were recovening the committee to decide if this should be treated as an international emergency, today. Which was decided yesterday.
There are two situation reports, one from Tuesday and one from yesterday. So no firm answers for the moment, but I will be keeping an eye on what they are saying.
This is a perfect example of why borders should be controlled extremely tightly.
Out of all places this could have broken out it had to be fucking Commie China one of the most corrupt, selfish and inept nations of people in the world.
There are a good number of videos of shit like this now. Most of them were in hospitals but collapsing out in the open like that is pretty scary. China is a much more connected country today than it was during SARS and this shit is getting around super fast. There could be a pretty bad panic because of this, I've already seen videos of fights in grocery stores.
Also who wants to bet that we'll break 10 quarantined cities before the weekend? And by city I mean places with a pop in the several million.
I gotta tell you...I'm well versed in the science of viruses and have a very good understanding of them versus the average guy, but some of the news coming out of China is giving me the creeps.
I'll hold back at the moment, but yikes...this is coming across as a game changer virus at the moment. And a tip fo the hat to the people on Kiwifarms digging up some interesting stuff on the ground there.
Compilation video. Says there are lots of people falling down unconscious in the streets of Wuhan, Emergency rooms, etc. Calls for the government to speed up admission and diagnosis.
I don't think we will, not officially. Double digits are an oh shit number, psychologically -- and China would rather let their people die than lose face. What we'll see is unofficial lockdowns of the various mass transits in China, and unofficial blockades keeping people from leaving infected areas.
Waste of infrastructure. Just quarantine it until they all die, and the ~10% that survive, study them for a vaccine / cure. It's not like they don't have fresh people to move into the area.
On on hand this screams REALLY fucking bad due to the ccp going from everything is fine to putting multiple massive metropolitan areas under quarantine in less than 24hrs
but if theirs any country that has the means and lack giving a fuck about the ramfications of using extreme measures to subdue/eradicate the situation it is China
the rapid level escalation is definatly concerning tho
Not going to lie: pretty happy I live rurally in an isolated island nation with the potential to be nearly self-sufficient in an emergency. If there's a case reported here, I'm wearing a mask when I go out in public.

You know, I can't say it enough. For chinese, there are surly not educated on basic hygiene, i mean, I expected better lol. The way that they slaughter on these markets and (not) clean the area is just so effing backwards. You expect it from savages...heck even they know you shouldn't be this unclean. It's probably because so many chinese are from the "lost generation" or whatever it is called and that means they are superstitious and uber backwards.
