Phase 1 of the Moderna vaccine trial was carried out on a total of 85 people (yes you read that right). A third of whom dropped out prior to the study being completed.

That's not particularly unusual for a Phase I trial.

Plus it's fairly obvious what happened. It's a two-dose vaccine and the first dose causes a pretty significant immune response. A third of the people enrolled just said fuck that and didn't bother getting the next dose.

One of my co-workers said they won't be attending movie theaters, concerts or any live events for the next three years, even with a vaccine.

The "socially distanced" concerts are a goddamn joke and "virtual concerts" are fucking stupid. I bet house concerts are booming (literally) now.

I haven't seen anyone with a visor also wearing a mask IRL. It's usually older people and always sticking out at an angle so it doesn't even cover their mouth.

One of my housemates got one of these ridiculous fucking things but they haven't worn it, possibly out of shame after I said it was stupid.

I've only ever seen one guy wear a visor (someone I work with who looks late 50s and is overweight), he also wears a mask. To his credit, he's worn a visor and mask since early April. The face shields IIRC are even less effective than masks at stopping the spread since droplets and particles can simply get around it.

I like the aesthetic more than the normal facemasks, looks like you chopped up a football helmet or something instead of the obnoxious surgical masks. Too bad I can't even enjoy the NFL this year because it's a total joke between the social justice bullshit, the mask bullshit everywhere, the empty stands and fake stadium noise, and the garbage quality of play when teams get their lineups raped because of idiotic quarantines. We can't even have real sports now, we have this garbage sanitized sports.

My country is strictly going in the order of nursing home residents, then nurses and doctors, then over 70s with the oldest going first. Police and teachers unions asked for priority too but aren't getting it, at least not the first round. When it's available to the general public with no restrictions, doomers are going to jump on it so I expect it to be booked out for months if the flu shot earlier this year is anything to go by. If you're under 60, relatively healthy, and don't work with covid patients there will probably be no reason you can't put it off until tens of millions have gone first.

By the time most posters here even get offered the vaccine we'll have insane amounts of data about adverse events. I live in FL. We have 21 million residents. We have 1.3 million health care workers. If any of our heads explode or I'm killed by Bill Gates in the middle of the night, you'll be the first to know.

True but it would be hypocritical in the extreme of authorities to say that when everything going has been blamed on Corona chan for months now. I know a couple of people who are medical staff in hospitals and fatties dropping dead of heart attack? Automatically assumed the coof did it, not the fact that had a positive test nigh on four weeks back, no symptoms, and were 370lb.

And if there are fertility-related effects it will take a very long time for us to figure that out. Also, apparently the quarantines worked so well in Europe that they have to keep doing them over and over again, but this is just a conspiracy theory. Trump fucked up Europe too somehow.

Sweden's case and death curves are almost identical to everyone else in Europe, barring a couple of places that are locked down so tight that there's no point leaving your home anyway. If anything, it proves that the lockdowns and all the extreme measures are pretty much useless, and possibly even counterproductive.

I know someone who wears this as essentially a "fuck you" to masks. They have to wear one to work so they opt for the least effective, more obnoxious option.

I've noticed that the backlash against the "shut it all DOWN!" screechers is growing, especially online. Where before it was mostly a chorus of angry voices demanding we all stay shuttered for two more years, now there's people really feeling the effects of the constant insane fluctuating lockdowns, and they're snapping back. You know, people who own businesses, who have children, social lives....things actually being actively affected every day by the madness of this all.

I'm not quite sure when the boiling point will be, but I predict in the next three months shit's gonna go down.
