http://boards.4chan.org/x/catalog - screencaps are suggested. /x/ has no dedicated archive and the existing ones are pretty bad.

Ah, /x/. You had such potential in your infancy, a virgin board ready for thoughtful discussion regarding the alleged supernatural. But, let's just say, those topics tend to attract the less mentally-balanced individuals, and the results are impressive.

/x/ as it is now is a place of eternal tensions under the surface, with multiple cliques forming. /x/ is a battleground board now. Shitposting and schizophrenia meet, and the results are often sad and hilarious in equal measure.

Behold, the HALL OF SHITPOSTING. Witness their autism, ye mighty, and despair!

This individual tends to be of some monotheistic bent, and tends to see Satanic rituals by the Illuminati Satanic Baby-Eating Elite everywhere. Looks in music videos, a ceremony to open a fucking tunnel, etc. Prone to incoherent posting.

Tend to get in arguments with the below, for extra lols.
Goes actively out of their way to disprove every last thing, regardless of whether they look like a jackass. Most hated of the board's current demographics.
A goat is not inherently satanic.png

These individuals genuinely believe they have power over the supernatural, and have multiple threads with tripfaggotry and namefaggotry galore. Tend to hang in the divination thread, mostly.

Fond of rping.

I remember a thread where /x/ posters were claiming they died in other realities and wound up in this one.

In one of the stories, an anon and some buddies were on a military plane that crashed. Right after the crash happened, they found themselves up in the air again as if the crash never happened. Then the anon found that parts at Radio Shack were different, the sun was a different color, and the FCC bans uncensored breasts on TV in this reality.

Ah, /x/. I remember the days when 4chan was hosted on three servers. One was dedicated to /b/, and the other two split between the other boards IIRC. Then one day /b/ got DDoS'd hard, and the /b/tards took to /x/ for refuge. Normally they would leave when the DDoS was over but this one was particularly long (well over a week) and that was enough to change /x/ forever. OP, don't forget the constant attempts to summon succubi so it can steal their virginity.

I used to hang out on several 4chan boards a long time ago and /x/ was one of them. It had genuinely interesting threads about genuinely creepy stuff. Nice copypasta-stories aside, there had been several threads about weird occurances (such as the Dyatlov pass incident), threads about lost places, local folklore, stuff like that.
But it quickly devolved and became home to spergs that take the whole thing a lot too seriously and drowning out any non-retarded content with their special brand of insanity.
I remember when /x/ was bad, but still on topic and having excellent debunking posters. Their topics now are:

  • SLENDERMAN IS REAL U GUIS
  • CREEPYPASTA
  • SKIN WALKERS ARE CREEPY
  • SCP AM I RITE
  • HOW TO SUMMON DEMONS
  • DOX YOURSELF AND I WILL TELL YOUR FUTURE
  • NUMBER RADIOS ARE SPOOKS
  • SKELETONS.
Just checked their frontpage, they currently have (some repost-threads aside) a thread about the "Satanic opening ritual for the Gotthardt Tunnel"
:story:

/x/ has been becoming shittier and shittier with the influx of the genuinely mentally ill and /fringe/ types. a lot of them come from absolutely bonker shitholes like god-like productions, ATS, beforeitsnews, and various blogs and wordpress sites. this was bound to happen, seeing as the subject matter of the board also signficant overlap with a lot of the less mentally-stable people on the internet. imo, one of the strangest things is the crossover with /pol/. whilst this may not be as evident on 4chan, but on 8chan a lot of /pol/ and /new/ shitheads genuinely believe in the retarded mysticism these people expound, such the power of imperial chinese wizards, satanic rituals, and the qabalah magic, to name a few.

of course, not only are they crazy, but also some of the stupidest motherfuckers and absolutely terrible posters around. they seriously cannot shut the fuck up about how an alien space-jew came to them in another realm whilst they were taking a shit. doesn't matter the thread, they'll make the most rambling posts about magic or demons or alien gods and the thread will be about ghost stories you heard as a kid.

/x/ thinks they've found a cannibal
http://archive.is/scJgS

The thread starts off with the OP detailing his quick encounter with a supposed cannibal he found after searching the tags "death" and "cannibalism" on omegle, and said he had his kik and that the cannibal lives in Waterloo, Iowa. It took the OP a while to get screencaps of the chat logs between him and the cannibal which makes anons skeptical. Then someone links the cannibal's supposed location to the disappearances of eleven people in Waterloo, Iowa in 2019.

Eventually, the kik username is confirmed and the name "A Sanders" is above the username. The first reply to the post confirming it's a real account discovers an Aaron Sanders in Waterloo, oddly enough, owns a funeral home, "an excellent place to work for a cannibal".

After this discovery a Facebook (https://archive.is/3p28o) is found. The thread is still ongoing but hasn't had any major updates since yesterday and is currently kind of slow (page 7)

Anons dug deeper and bumped the thread with some news articles

Funeral director who groped girl at wake denied license

WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) -- A funeral director convicted of groping and kissing a teenage girl at a wake has been denied a license to practice his trade.

Aaron Sanders, owner of the Sanders Funeral Service in Waterloo, had appealed the decision by the Iowa Board of Mortuary Examiners to deny him a license because of his January assault conviction. The board made its ruling last month at a meeting in Clive.
``I've requested another hearing and if I'm not granted a license, Sanders Funeral Service will close,'' Sanders said. ``I will decide to move on.'

A 15-year-old girl accused Sanders of grabbing her buttocks and kissing her while she attended a family member's wake. Sanders had argued that a hug between him and the girl in May 1997 had been consensual.

The board said Sanders may reapply in a year if he obtains a business permit for the funeral home within 30 days and also meets certain guidelines. Those rules include not preparing bodies for burial and submitting monthly case reports on each service the home handles.

If Sanders succeeds in getting a license, he will be on probation for a year, the board ruled.

Funeral home director robbed

WATERLOO | A Waterloo funeral home director said he was robbed at gunpoint and assaulted Saturday.
Aaron Sanders, 62, suffered injuries to his face, arms and legs, but his wounds didn’t require hospitalization, according to police.

He arrived at the Waterloo Police Department at about 3:35 p.m. to report the crime. He said he was leaving a home in the 400 block of East First Street when two men with red bandannas covering their faces approached him outside, according to police.

Sanders told officers one of the men pointed a handgun at him, and he was pushed to the ground. The robbers took cash, his phone, credit cards and his funeral director license and ran off, according to the police report.

No arrests have been made, and the case remains under investigation.

Funeral home director faces disciplinary hearing
WATERLOO -- A state licensing board will take up a complaint against a Waterloo funeral home director in March.
The Iowa Board of Mortuary Science Examiners has a scheduled disciplinary hearing for Aaron Sanders for March 8 in Des Moines.
A notice of the hearing state the board found probable cause to file a civil charge in the matter on Dec. 14. It alleges Sanders engaged in an unethical practice that was harmful or detrimental to the public.

Details about the complaint are confidential until the hearing, and Sanders couldn't be reached for comment.
The hearing comes less than a year after the state and Sanders settled a civil matter.
Probate court records show the Fraud Division of the Iowa Department of Human
Services pursued an administrative claim against Sanders in connection with the estate of a 94-year-old woman who died in December 2000.
Willie Mae Baker gave Sanders her home at 740 Webster St. about a month before she died.
Sanders didn't pay anything for the property and sold it for $40,500, according to probate records.
In her will, Baker nominated Sanders to be executor of her estate, and his business also arranged her funeral.
The Iowa Department of Human Services intervened in Baker's estate when it sought to collect $38,000 in medical assistance it provided to her before she died.

With the house already gone, there wasn't enough left to pay the debt, and state officials said in court records the property transfer was inappropriate.
Sanders was removed as executor, and state officials filed a civil suit against Sanders to claim proceeds from the sale of the house.
The matter was settled in May when Sanders agreed he owed the state $25,000, records state. He was also held responsible for any inheritance taxes.

Sometimes there are schizoposters from /x/ posting on /g/ and /sci/. Kinda wish we had more info on them because they can be amusing.
From my time looking on /x/, these tended to overlap with the religeous types who kept prattling on about how Jesus was going to return and tried to shove that shit down everyone's throats like it was truly going to happen.

kek, I remember screencapping this a while ago:

So a cereal, which is eaten in milk and therefore becomes soggy or softer to a degree (even if you eat it fast), is meant to cause tiny scrapes on the inside of our mouths so we can catch STDs easier?

Interesting. I mean I have actually scraped the inside of my cheek on tortilla chips but that's WAYYY different.
