Xbox Thread (Like/Hate) - Mainly focusing on the lackluster exclusives, weak points, or strong points of Xbox consoles

Get a PlayStation 3 then. Much cheaper and more stylish.
PS3s are getting really old and issues are popping up left and right. Even I'm a little afraid of replacing my thermal paste on my PS3's CPU.

Xbox Series Xs also do 4k blu ray, PS3s don't because they came out in '06

Yeah, I had a PS3 and it started having issues so I got rid of it.

I wouldn't buy the Xbox Series X for the blu ray player, it'd just be a nice extra. I honestly would be more likely to get the Series S over it if it got down to 200

Love my Series X and am contemplating getting another.

I have a fairly decent gaming PC, but my issue right now is that I also have to sit at my desk and work off it for 9 hours a day. I cant think of anything I would rather do less than play games at it for a few hours after I finish. Meanwhile my Series X is hooked up in the bedroom and I can hop into bed and play. Its pretty easy to grab the box and hook it up in the living room if I would rather chill on the couch.

I am at the point where I am getting most games on the Xbox instead of Steam. God forbid they put Satisfactory on this thing, I would probably become entombed in my bed.

Quick resume

I will say this is probably the feature I like the most about mine. Its kinda magical how within seconds of pressing the Xbox button on my controller, my TV lights up and I am back in my game. It is broken on certain games though, anything that pulls data from a server like Forza Horizon breaks and requires a restart of the game if you want network functionality.

So I guess I was tired and didn't notice when I looked at Gamestop the other day that the price for the 229.99 Series S was for a used one. Guess I should have figured they'd default to used systems first...

So are rainbow hair niggos with student debt going to be the "relatable" thing for the next 4 years?

Anyways, Redfall is apparently shit to no ones surprise.

Phil Spencer. You had a chance to kick Sony's ass for a brief momemt in time...give up on Activision and release some fucking games ffs.

I see why this game bombed at release. TOTS RELATABLE
I hate to be like this, but I feel vindicated. I thought Redfall looked like complete shit from the start and didn't understand why Microsoft was pushing so much hype behind it. I had a few people argue me on it (not here luckily), and figured I'm just an old man.

Now I realize that Xbots are just so starved for an exclusive that they'll literally jump on anything. The fact that this game ended up also being a technical fuck up is just icing on the cake.

It sucks, I want to like Microsoft because of their backwards compatibility and the fact that they seem to want to release stuff that isn't just hold forward and watch cutscenes like Sony, but even though their games push gameplay, it's always the same co op cartoony "trying to be relatable" bullshit it feels like.

I have little faith in Starfield at this point. I have to believe these delays are because they are in fact not able to get it run up to snuff because why go back on their first half of 2023 promise and push it back to release a technical nightmare like Redfall unless it was in even worse shape?

They've just not put out anything interesting enough over the last decade for me, where's stuff like Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge?
It's available lol for 9.99 download

I still have it on original and it plays on 360

How long does Arkane have as a studio? This is their third or fourth flop in a row.

I'd imagine MS will have them do another Dishonored/Prey/spiritual successor to either and if that doesn't work anyone worth keeping will get rolled into other studios/projects and they'll retire the Arkane name.

Redfall is a huge black-eye for MS. It's a legitimate high profile stinker that they probably paid millions for and was going to be one of their main titles for 2023.

So is there a reason to own an xbox anymore? with the activision deal falling off theres not gonna be any exclusives and even if it goes thru those games will be on pc too, just not on the ps5

Everybody says gamepass because its cheap but I checked the catalog and it sucks ass, half are X360 games, the og xbox ones the only worth playing is crimson skies, they wont even put the good shit that you cant get anywhere else because it hasnt been rereleased like jsrf or panzer dragoon, but you got that shitty shooter 'black' that people know only because journoscum got bribed to shill it as usual

Halo is dead, its been unironic gaylo since 4, so what else then?

And I heard they are banning emulators, literally the only reason some people got a series S for

Deathloop and Dishonored 2 were critical successes

Current year+7 and you still believe in game reviews

If they hadnt bribed for those scores it would be -23/10 just because they refused to pay
but sold very poorly.
I know dishonored 2 sucked ass compared to the first, as for the other it looked like the same game but muhniggas and fuckwhitey so no wonder nobody bought it

Maybe thats why both are free on gamepass, just like psychonauts 2 and all the other woke shit that nobody buys and only exists thanks to esg money

Redfall is getting completely crucified. And deservedly so because it looks like dogshit and is blatantly unfinished.

Xbox started off this gen with potential but it seems like it's back to being a laughingstock now where everything they do blows up in their face. If Starfield turns out the same way I'll be genuinely curious to see what happens. At the very least some of the leadership probably needs to be shitcanned.
