Always sucks to see something I once found enjoyment in crash and burn in flames, but it's entirely deserved and I'm not going to lose sleep over it.

Talking about le birth rates is right wing coded, AI is always unpopular with Bluesky Leftists, and they are probably anti-caste (racism) too. Could probably find out more by checking the Kotaku article or replies but I didn't care.
 
I know I'll probably get hate for saying this but the 360 era was the best and only year for the xbox. Over the years they've made baffling decision aafter baffling decision with each new generation. The X-box one was trash with the exception of the rare replay collection and the series x looks like shit. Porting their exclusives over to the PC in my mind is what ultimately doomed them. Playstation also seems to becoming obselete since they port all their exclusives over to PC as well.

If Xbox Magnus is a subsidized gaming PC that I can hack/OtherOS permanently, it will be the first interesting Xbox for decades.

The Xbox Project Helix reportedly won't be a traditional console, but a Windows-based set-top box. It’s basically a PC that uses the Windows full screen experience.

The next-gen Xbox Project Helix will reportedly abandon a native console SKU in favor of a specialized PC architecture designed to run games released on the Windows Store.

Microsoft is apparently well aware that Project Helix will be an expensive, niche product. “They're just gonna use this thing not exploding in sales as the final nail in the coffin to roll up the HW portion of the business.

With Xbox Project Helix exclusives "absolutely not happening" under this setup, it increasingly sounds like a machine that will never directly compete with the PlayStation 6, whose primary competitor may instead be the Steam Machine.

Whether or not they really want to exit hardware, they need to make Windows much better for gaming. The "Xbox Mode" UI should do the job of the Steam Deck's UI on and handheld, and soon any PC. They'll also want to make sure Linux isn't unexpectedly outperforming Windows in new games because of weird overhead or other issues.

The rumor is RDNA4 will not get FSR5/Diamond whatever. Pretty funny. This points to potentially major AI improvements in RDNA5. I think the summary of RDNA5 was that it should improve raster by 10-20% per CU, raytracing by 100%, nothing known about AI/ML capabilities. RDNA5 should be a long-lived and supported architecture because it will be going into Xbox Helix and PS6.

I think it's understood that RDNA5 is not UDNA1. I wonder if there will be similar problems for people who don't Just Wait™ until UDNA.
 
Xbox “died” when they dropped the blades dashboard from the 360

The launch 360s UI was (imo) among the best UI on any gaming console ever.
