I'm not in this game, so I give this game a 3/10 already. Absolutely unplayable.
watching the interface makes my eyes bleed. is that what happens when you getting old?
Nah, Xenoblade has a lot of interface stuff due to how many mechanics it tends to have and the scope of the combat. So you need one corner with party member stuff, another corner with layout of your abilities, another corner for a different ability/mechanical interface, then you got the enemy hp bar, and then you got whatever other bullshit needs its own corner.
It is very much not for everyone at all and this game wants to have up to 7-8 (depending on if the nopon and their partner also can also split) party members in combat instead of the usual 3 which makes the very large amount of interface crap on the screen even worse. I love this autistic shit personally when it flows well like in 2 once I understood what was going on and once I did the interface was fine as I was able to understand what parts mattered to me and what part didn't, but obviously not everyone wants to go through that sort of hassle.
A bit lost with the franchise tbh.
I liked xenoblade 1 and the remake on switch.
I didn't vibe at all with the characters and gameplay of xeno 2 tho.
The whole anime harem story, waifus and gatcha shit wasn't for me
2 was specifically made the way it was narrative wise because the director thought Japan was overly depressed so he made some upbeat positive story with a pretty squarely happy ending instead of the very downer existential crisis laden story of 1, that is partially why 2 was so weird compared to 1. 2's plot is also rushed to fuck sometimes (startling considering it has I think 11 hours of cutscenes) as only 2 out of the 5 main party members really finish their development and arcs, 1 is a joke character, and 2 don't really get very satisfying conclusions if that to their plots.
I prefer 1's plot and setting over 2 by a mile, but 2 played better as a game once I understood the flow of the mechanics. This seems to be going for somethin akin to 2's combat again as blades seem to still be a combat mechanic, so who knows what crazy autistic nonsense they'll make this time.
