CN Xi Jinping Asks Troops To Prepare For War As Battle Drills Intensify Around Taiwan - Soldiers must "enhance their strategic deterrent and combat capability," Xi said.

China's Xi Jinping called this week for troops to strengthen their preparedness for war.

Beijing: Chinese President Xi Jinping called this week for troops to strengthen their preparedness for war, state media reported today, just days after Beijing staged large-scale military drills around Taiwan.

Xi made his comments while visiting a brigade of the People's Liberation Army Rocket Force on Thursday, according to state-run broadcaster CCTV.

Xi said the military should "comprehensively strengthen training and preparation for war, (and) ensure troops have solid combat capabilities", state media CCTV reported.

Soldiers must "enhance their strategic deterrent and combat capability," Xi said.

China, which claims Taiwan as part of its territory, has stepped up its shows of force around the self-ruled island in recent years.

On Monday, Beijing had deployed fighter jets, drones, warships and coast guard vessels to encircle Taiwan -- its fourth round of large-scale war games around the democratic island in just over two years.

China's communist leaders have insisted they will not rule out using force to bring Taiwan under Beijing's control.

Xi on Thursday said the Chinese military must "strongly safeguard the country's strategic security and core interests", according to the CCTV report.

The dispute between China and Taiwan dates back to a civil war in which the nationalist forces of Chiang Kai-shek were defeated by Mao Zedong's communist fighters and fled to the island in 1949.

China and Taiwan have been ruled separately since then.

LOL when has this ever stopped the Chinese before?
True, but it doesn't change the fact that it's a significant part of their power grid, would probably cripple their military if they blew it up themselves, and its DEEP inside China. You literally do need a stealth bomber to reach it due to all the fighters and missile batteries they would have set up along the way. Luckily the US has that, the B-2 bombers and the new B-21, both capable of carrying a 30,000 pound Massive Ordnance Penatrator meant to plunge through bunkers and the like

Could also try stealth cruise missiles, though they would have a long journey trying not to get shot down.

Every October the political elite in China meet up to discuss arbitrary political progress goals, VPNs shit the bed for a few weeks, and Xi proclaims some obscure, vague readiness posture the military has to meet. This happens every year or every political anniversary.

And every October the same people in the west who get their news from China from people who don’t live there and have never lived there, clutch at their pearls, because THIS is the time that China will invade Taiwan!!! Invasion is imminent!!!

Except it isn’t. Winter weather is about to close the strait to any possibility of a cross-strait amphibious force that China doesn’t even have yet, and even if it did, it would be a force sizeable enough for everyone on the planet to see. This happens every year, and every year, the same westerners fall for it hook, line and sinker.

If China wants to make a military move on Taiwan, they need to do it in the next few years before their demographic crisis decimates their military-industrial base. They don't have enough young people to keep up with mega-army shit. China is the fastest aging country on earth, and they'll implode over the next 10 to 15 yrs.

Russia faced the same eastern front dilemma with Russia's population crash. If they wanted a land war to grab more territory, it had to happen before running low on soldiers. That was an underappreciated factor in the Ukraine war. Russians have a terribly low birth rate.

And from what I have read the death rate is high, and life expectancy is shrinking. Get out of town a ways and you go back decades. Still villages that get their water from a communal well. Many die from alcohol poisoning, not to mention alcoholism. Tobacco use is high. Many don't eat the healthiest diet and medical care for most people isn't that great. And Russian drivers are some of the worst on the planet.

the invasion of taiwan will just be a symbolic victory. it's already public information that taiwan plans to destroy their own chip making infrastructure at the first sign of any invasion. with that out of the way there's very little reason for the west to actually step in to stop it. we might see ukraine style aid but if you think there's going to be american boots on the ground for a tiny island you're out of your mind.

The Chinese have a better fertility rate than white americans and far more likely to just let old people choose between working or living with their child.
They just have to wait for the US to turn into Mexico

Now they have something far more valuable than people in the way: industry and infrastructure. It isn't just Shanghai but also the valuable transport hub of Wuhan (which is also an important industrial city in its own right) that would get wiped out. The Chinese people may be expendable but the yuan spent building up those two cities is not.

As a retard on the internet who has played video games for years, I know exactly how this is going to play out.

First, China will wait patiently until the new Fabs in Arizona open and are operational. With the US cranking out chips in AZ, Taiwan's importance is greatly reduced. Then they will go through back channels in the US intel community to let them know that they will begin a naval/air blockade on the island of Taiwan. Then they will patiently wait until Taiwan is forced to submit, without an invasion ever happening.

They're probably banking on a cold US civil war going hot after election day before they commit to any operations. If things go loud stateside, we might even get to see how much critical infrastructure their hackers managed to burrow into. Imagine rolling back the clock and getting to live through an uptick in sectarian violence not yet seen in this century with the bonus of not having a working power grid or cell network.

But more than likely, nothing ever happens

The last time China fought a war, it was against Vietnam to defend the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia (Pol Pot). China lost that war and the Vietnamese successfully toppled the Khmer Rouge. Anyone who seriously thinks that China's military can go toe-to-toe with the US military is a fool.

They have maybe 500 warheads. The US has over 5,000. They will never start a nuclear exchange because it will hurt them more than it would hurt the US.

I hope these retards start some shit because it would be fun to watch all the videos of their poorly-manufactured rifles exploding on the battlefield.
